"Look, Mommy! It's a doll!" Vanessa exclaimed. We just came home from the playground and she found this beautiful doll sitting at our porch.

She has blond hair and round innocent eyes. Wait, she is wearing an elegant ball gown. Could she be a princess?

Her smile is so sweet, who would not get mesmerized?

"Can we keep her? Pretty please, mommy?"

"Uhm, are you sure, honey?" I asked. "Maybe she has another owner, and she is already looking for her."

Alas, I could not do anything. Vanessa simply has that effect on me. I cannot say "No" to her. We kept this little Princess Doll to ourselves.

Vanessa took great care of her. She brushed her hair... fixed her disheveled gown... and let her sit at the comfiest spot at home.

The Princess in a Cup. That's what we called her. Her gown can turn into her haven, which is a cup. She gives a very soothing melody too. Vanessa loved her so much.

Things Started To Change

All was well, until Vanessa noticed something strange.

The doll started acting weird. It shows itself in different parts of the house. One day, Vanessa found it on top of the fridge. She put it back in its shelf.

But then again, we kept on finding it in different spots of the house. Worse, it seemed to make strange sounds too. It played its music in the wee hours of the morning when everyone was asleep.

It was like it had a life of its own.

Could she?
