El día 24 de diciembre es muy importante para mí por tradición familiar, nuestras costumbres vienen de mi abuela materna quien acostumbraba llevar a su mamá, mi bisabuela a su casa, reunir a todos sus hermanos (que eran 10) y sobrinos, hijos y nietos, de las cuales yo soy la mayor y cocinar dese las hallacas hasta numerosos postres para compartir.

The 24th of December is very important for me because of family tradition, our customs come from my maternal grandmother who used to take her mother, my great-grandmother to her house, gather all her siblings (there were 10 of them) and nephews, children and grandchildren, of which I am the oldest and cook from hallacas to numerous desserts to share.

Mi abuela ya no está con nosotros desde que yo tenía 16 años y mi mamá fue heredera de todas sus recetas y su forma de hacer todas las preparaciones para la cena de navidad, y por supuesto continuar comiendo el 25 y los siguientes días hasta acabar con todo.

My grandmother is no longer with us since I was 16 years old and my mom was heir to all her recipes and her way of making all the preparations for Christmas dinner, and of course, continue eating on the 25th and the following days until the end of everything.

Poco a poco he ido aprendiendo al darme cuenta de que todo esto representa un gran trabajo y ya desde hace un tiempo me he venido encargando de algunas preparaciones como el ponche crema, algún postre, ayudar con las hallacas, hasta llegar a esta fecha en que ya me encargué de hacer el pan de jamón yo misma.

Otra tradición importante que mantenemos es esperar al niño Jesús al despertar el día 25 y es muy divertido porque llega con regalos al lado de la cama para niños y adultos. Los niños de la casa se alegran mucho cuando ven qué padres, tíos y abuelos han recibido regalos en sus camas.

Another important tradition we keep is to wait for the baby Jesus when we wake up on the 25th and it is a lot of fun because he arrives with gifts at the bedside for children and adults. The children of the house are very happy when they see which parents, uncles, aunts, uncles, and grandparents have received gifts in their beds.

Desde hace 13 años nos mudamos de Maracaibo a Caracas y desde hace unos 7 años ya no viajamos a pasar la navidad en Maracaibo, ahora que tenemos nuestra propia casa, mi esposo, mis hijos y yo, nos encanta recibir en nuestro hogar a mis padres y mi hermana con su familia.

We moved from Maracaibo to Caracas 13 years ago and for the last 7 years, we no longer travel to spend Christmas in Maracaibo. Now that we have our own house, my husband, my children, and I love to receive my parents and my sister and her family in our home.

Llevábamos varios años recibiendo la navidad en nuestro hogar, este núcleo familiar, con la visita de algún otro familiar como mi madrina o algunos amigos también y nos encanta, ya que la casa está en unas montañas en las afueras de Caracas y el clima en esos días decembrinos es muy rico, frío y nos parece muy acogedor estar todos en la casa rodeados de naturaleza.

We have been receiving Christmas in our home for several years, this family nucleus, with the visit of some other family members like my godmother or some friends too and we love it since the house is in the mountains in the outskirts of Caracas and the climate in those days of Christmas is very rich, cold and we find it very cozy to be all in the house surrounded by nature.

Para la navidad de este año 2022 mi madrina nos invitó a todos a pasarlo en su casa en an Antonio de los Altos con su hijo y familia, sus hermanos y sobrinos, así que este año fue muy diferente, pero fue igual de hermoso, porque ellos son primos de mi mamá y nos criamos muy cercanos, siempre ha existido mucha unión y fue realmente acogedor.

For Christmas 2022 my godmother invited us all to spend it at her house in San Antonio de Los Altos with her son and family, her brothers and nephews, so this year was very different, but it was just as beautiful, because they are cousins of my mom and we grew up very close, there has always been a lot of unions and it was cozy.

Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes los momentos que se congelaron en nuestras memorias sobre esta linda navidad, divertida, numerosa en familia y también en mascotas, en la que compartimos una deliciosa cena preparada por todos, realizamos un intercambio de regalos de franelas según el gusto de cada quien que fue muy divertido porque se notó que todos absolutamente pensaron en su amigo secreto de forma especial y creo que toda la vivencia dejó bonitas enseñanzas a mis hijos que son la futura generación.

Today I want to share with you the moments that were frozen in our memories about this beautiful Christmas, fun, numerous in family and also in pets, in which we shared a delicious dinner prepared by all, we made an exchange gift of flannels according to the taste of each one that was very funny because it was noticed that everyone thought of their secret friend in a special way and I think that the whole experience left beautiful lessons to my children who are the future generation.

Para el 25 de diciembre, día de Navidad, organizamos una fiesta de colores y fue superdivertida, ya van a ver do lo que se trata en el video que grabamos con mi teléfono y fue editado por mis primos, les adelanto, que cada familia escogió un color y debía ir vestido de tal color y llevar pasapalos de ese mismo color, hicimos un desfile de entrada y luego la gozadera, también preparamos un sancocho ese día y sentí que la edad estaba haciendo sus efectos porque por primera vez mi esposo y yo participamos preparándolo, para todo hay una primera vez y presentí que sería la primera de muchas para alguien que ni siquiera le gusta tomar sopa.

For December 25th, Christmas day, we organized a color party and it was super fun, you will see what it is about in the video that we recorded with my phone and was edited by my cousins, I tell you in advance, that each family chose a color and had to dress in that color and carry gifts of the same color, We did an entrance parade and then the gozadera, we also prepared a sancocho that day and I felt that age was taking its toll because for the first time my husband and I participated preparing it, for everything, there is a first time and I felt that it would be the first of many for someone who doesn't even like to eat soup.

Fue una navidad diferente, a casi 10 grados centígrados de temperatura, que no es normal para nosotros, pero con gran ilusión porque mis hijos pudieron vivir ese encuentro entre primos lejanos a los que yo estaba acostumbrada.
