    About :

Hurmasice is one of the oldest delicacies that can still be seen on Serbian tables and is most certainly found in Bosnia as one of the most prepared homemade desert.
We discussed Sarajevo (Bosnia's capital) and how nice it would be to spend the New Year there.

A new year? Does that sentence cut you off as well? Does it make you nervous that another year is approaching?

Food is usually the first thing that comes to mind when I think of Bosnia; there, I had the most gorgeous kebab and the sweetest baklava. But until we go to Sarajevo for a short time Im bringing it to us.

Although preparing this dessert requires little time and little effort, I must emphasize that it is not suitable for those who have sugar intolerance since it only contains sugar, eggs, butter, and flour. They took their name from the well-known, incredibly healthy fruit called dates. They are shaped like dates for precisely this reason, but any shape will do if you don't have a mold like I didn't.

    Biscuit:
    2 eggs
    2 cups(1 dcl) of sugar
    2 cups (1dcl) oil - I added 1 tsp melted butter instead
7 cups of flour, although no recipe has a specific measurement (you may need more)
    1 baking powder

    Syrup;
    7 cups of sugar
    7 cups of water
    1 lemon

By the way, in Bosnia this syrup is called Agda.

The sugar amount is definitely too much, so don't try to break it all up while beating the eggs with it; this will help the biscuit stay compact and crumble after the liquid is added.
The flour and baking powder are then combined with the melted butter that has been cooled and added into beaten eggs.
Lightly knead everything together to form a compact mass.

The biscuit is, as I said, shaped like a date, but since I don't have that kind of mold and I'm making them for the first time overall, the adage is, "stick and ropes!"

But here's a suggestion in case you have that fantastic device that will slice your boiled eggs into pieces - use it.

The dough needs a little more work with your hands, add enough flour to stop it from sticking, roll it up, and cut it into equal pieces with a knife. This way of cutting will at leaste give you the similar measurment for each cookie.

Place the cookies in a baking tray covered with parchment paper, then bake them at 200°C until golden brown.

Water is added to the sugar and lemon, syrup is on the way, slowly boil it on medium heat. To achieve the desired effect, the syrup must be warm and the biscuit cold.

I almost forgot to mention that there are different ways to prepare Hurmasice, and in my case, I decided to add coconut instead of walnuts, hazelnuts, or both (although I had to go shopping specifically just the coconut).

Two floors, up and down, math says 4.:P

After baking, place the biscuits in a deep dish, and then drizzle warm syrup over them (it would be desirable for the biscuit to float).
    Then walk away...until tomorrow.

    Im serious this time.

    Hah, joke!
We took just one hour long walk, and then we enjoyed the sugar bomb bites!

I'll admit that if you're a big fan of sweets, you might be able to eat two portions of this treat, I'll bow down to you! :D

The only thing I'm missing right now is the coffee prepared in fildzan, for complete enjoyment.
