Representative Thomas Massie said on a Tweet on November 20
Protecting free speech means protecting speech you don’t like, even if it opens you up to criticism.
Recently Congress voted on whether to ban “antisemitic” speech on college campuses. I voted against the ban.
Because Rep Massie has taken principled stands in support of free speech and opposing foreign aid while the U.S. is running a defecit - power lobbies are spending thousands of dollars in advertisements against him.
Freedom of speech is the foundational right, without it all other rights can be stripped.
