Viajera del río es un vals venezolano, oriundo de la ciudad de Guayana, en el Estado Bolívar.

La historia del vals en Venezuela, se remonta al siglo XVlll época en la cual fueron escritos los primeros bocetos de vals apropiados en Venezuela, estos bocetos fueron rescatados a mediados del siglo XIX muchos años después de la Guerra de Independencia durante el mandato del General Guzmán Blanco, como consecuencia de su afrancesamiento de la ciudad de Caracas y apropiamiento de esta cultura en Venezuela.

Algunos de los compositores venezolanos que fundaron esta forma musical en Venezuela antes del siglo XX fueron: Manuel Guadalajara, Heraclio Fernández, Ramón Delgado Palacios y Teresa Carreño.

Éste género es la base para la formación de otros géneros como el joropo.

Existen dos tipos de vals, el de salón que es acompañado con piano y el popular que suele ser interpretado por violín o bandola y acompañados por bandolina, cuatro y guitarra.

Pero para mí tiene un contenido simbólico que figura la situación en el que el hombre se ve situado en la vida, con respecto a los amores u oportunidades, que se pasan por en frente de nosotros y muchas veces uno tiene una intención de aprovechar esa oportunidad o vivir ese amor y no lo hace por sentirse incapaz o incorrespondido, cuando la verdadera realidad es que las oportunidades y amores siempre están allí en nuestras vidas y nosotros no sabemos o no nos atrevemos a aprovecharlos ni vivirlos.

Manuel Yanez, el compositor de esta obra maestra fue un cantautor venezolano nacido en el Esto Bolivar.

Viajera del Río is a Venezuelan waltz, origined in the city of Guayana, in the Bolívar State.

The history of the waltz in Venezuela dates back to the eighteenth century, when the first appropriate waltz sketches were written in Venezuela, these sketches were rescued in the mid-nineteenth century many years after the War of Independence during the mandate of Principal Guzmán Blanco, as a consequence of his Frenchification of the Caraca’s city and appropriation of its culture in Venezuela.

But for me it has a symbolic content that includes the situation in which the man is situated in life, with respect to the loves or opportunities, which are passed in front of us and many times one has an intention to take advantage of that opportunity or live that love and do not do it by feeling incapable or unresponsive, when the true reality is that opportunities and loves are always there in our lives and we do not know or do not dare to take advantage of them or live them.

Manuel Yanez, the composer of this masterpiece was a Venezuelan singer-songwriter born in Esto Bolivar.
