Hi, today i will leave you here this interpretation made for me of the ''Tonada de Luna llena'' of Simon Díaz an arrangement made by the master Marcos Granados and José García with the Simon Bolivar Orchestra, you can find the record here

La Tonada is a Venezuelan musical genre that was born as a narrative sung between workers or slaves, through the tonadas they told or expressed their regrets, fears, thoughts and ideas at the same time they were working.

It has a clearly intimate character because originally the tonadas were recited alone and functioned as an expression therapy for the interpreter.

Many tonadas has meanings beyond the letter because they convey situations and problems of everyday life, that is why the letter must be improvised.

    "The moon is watching me,
I don't know what he sees me.
    I have clean clothes,
    yesterday afternoon I washed it.

And then the moon is a mirror, a kind of Jiminy Cricket telling you
"You got that girl pregnant, almost a minor" and your voice
answers: “Yes, but I have a clear conscience, because yesterday I went to
talk to his dad and I told him not to worry, that I was going to
marry his daughter and give my surname to his future grandson ”.
