Walking or swimming? A good question [En]

As I told you in a previous post, I have been adding jogging and brisk walking to my workouts and have actually been feeling pretty good. However, an injury to my pinky toenail has prevented me from suspending my swimming practice for a few days. In light of this, and as my injury began to fade and the pain subsided, I decided to walk to resume my physical activity.

I love walking as a cardiovascular exercise! And without a doubt, the strengthening that swimming as a sport has generated in my cardio-respiratory system has allowed me to get less tired. However, a bad movement, sometimes caused by the unevenness of the pavement where you are walking, can generate pain in the lower extremities.

In fact, one of my knees hurt a lot, and I had to do stretching exercises to reduce it. During the walk I wondered which of these two activities I enjoyed more, and although I enjoy both, swimming allows me to achieve great endurance with less impact.

I'm not going to deny that we love the sweat generated by jogging because it makes us feel it has more effect than swimming, but as we read, we know that's not the case. I'm more inclined today to swim as much as I can and alternate with walking on the days when I don't have practice in water and I'll stay that way!
