3 PLAY TO EARN GAMES I AM CHECKING OUT (HASHKINGS / DCROPS / DEFI KINGDOMS)

Although my first love is Splinterlands, I have been exploring other games both on and off the Hive blockchain. I've come to have a big appreciation for the Hive blockchain due to the lack of fees. The Resource Credit system works very well for gaming and I'm excited to see what other platforms evolve on here.

The games I'm checking out are below. Keep in mind, I've only begun to dabble in them so this is not a full on review but just some initial thoughts and reactions.

Hashkings

This has the most gamefied elements to it as the ecosystem and gameplay are quite complex. There are a wide variety of NFTs in the game and you either need to own each of them or buy the production of them from other holders. So far I've only bought one water NFT and the ROI has been very low although I haven't spent much time exploring the rest of the gameplay.

dCrops

I'm enjoying this one for it's simplicity. It reminds me of Rising Star but there is a startup cost required as you need to own at least one land plot and one seed to do anything with the gameplay. The airdrop and holding reward mechanisms seem promising so I will explore those further. Beta packs should be out later this year and I'm excited to grab some!

Defi Kingdoms

This game really puts the defi in Defi Kingdoms. The gameplay is very basic, although the Hero NFTs are quite complex. The only problem is they are all very expensive right now so the entry into the game side has a high barrier. On the defi side though, the returns and APRs of some of these pools are amazing. The team seems to be focused on the defi elements first and building out the gameplay second so we'll see how that evolves over time.
