    About this video

This video showcases the Filipino style of cooking in the traditional way, using a wood fire and clay stove. In this edition, I will be showing you guys how I cooked "Paksiw na Tilapia", it is a dish that is very popular in our country. Also, it is one of the simplest and easiest dishes to prepare, not only that, but it is also one of the easiest to cook. You just put most of the ingredients in a bowl, add some water, add some vinegar, season with salt, and then boil. The cooking time of this dish takes about less than twenty minutes. This dish also has many variants, and a lot of vegetables can also be added. Aside from Tilpia one of the most popular to be used on a paksiw dish is Milk Fish and Blue Scad Mackerel. A lot of vegetable options are also available for this dish like Snow Cabbage, Eggplant, Bitter Gourd, and Okra.

    Interesting fact

The Tilapia that I used in this dish came from the lake that was one minute's ride from our house. Our neighborhood is very lucky because of this lake that is abundant with freshwater fish. Aside from fish, clams and shrimps can also be found on the lake. This lake is supplying us with free fish all year long. All we have to do is catch them.

When do we always cook this dish?

Most of the time this dish is cooked and served specifically for lunchtime. This dish is very versatile, it can be cooked and served during the rainy season and summer season. In the summer season, this dish becomes the best when partnered with cold drinks.

That is all for now guys, catch you up with the next one. Wishing you all safety, good health, and abundance.
