¿Será cierto que 1=0,999...?

En este vídeo se demuestra que 1=0,999... de cuatro formas diferentes, pero todavía existen muchas más demostraciones algebraicas, analíticas y numéricas, diferentes a las que se hacen en el vídeo.

En el vídeo se incluye al personaje Homero Simpson en algunas líneas para hacer mas divertida, amena y didáctica la explicación de las demostraciones.

¿Qué es un número real?

Un número real es aquel que se puede representar en la recta numérica real de varias formas diferentes y se clasifica en números naturales, números enteros, números racionales y números irracionales.

Hablando de los números irracionales, son aquellos que tienen una expresión decimal infinita no periódica y los más conocidos son π=3,141516..., El número de Euler, el número áureo, entre otros.

¿0,999.... es irracional?

No.
0,999... es un número racional con expresión decimal infinita periodica de periodo 9.

¿Por qué 1=0,999...?

Lo que ocurre es que existen dos maneras diferentes de representar a la unidad en el conjunto de los números reales.
