Understanding the card series of Splinterlands

For somebody like me that has been playing Splinterlands for several years, the card series are easy to understand. For somebody who is new to the game and has to struggle already to understand how things work, this might actually be quite tricky.

Lately, I had several people who asked questions regarding these card series and I thought in might be a good idea to create a little tutorial.
