Hoy me uní al Inspired Make Up Challenge de @mintdreams1 y la comunidad de MakeUp Power cuya temática son los Vikingos; aquellas personas procedentes de Escandinavia y que en sus tiempos eran conocidos como bárbaros luchadores y saqueadores de todo el viejo continente.

Today I joined the Inspired Make Up Challenge of @mintdreams1 and the MakeUp Power community whose theme is the Vikings; those people from Scandinavia who in their time were known as barbarian fighters and plunderers from all over the old continent.

Sin embargo no todo es negativo, pues le dejaron al mundo una rica herencia y cultura en pueblos como Dinamarca, Noruega, Suecia, Islandia y el resto del norte del continente europeo.

Los Vikingos se caracterizaban por el uso de maquillaje decorativo cuando iban en rumbo a nuevas misiones y enfrentamientos. Y he aquí por qué decidí incursionar en esta actividad.

Jamás en mi vida me había colocado maquillaje y aún menos lo había hecho por mí mismo. Siempre he visto a mi hermana hacerlo y a todas las mujeres con la que me he topado en la vida, pero jamás imaginé que yo lo haría.

Claro está que se trata de algo más “artístico” en vez de embellecer.

No estoy en contra de aquellas personas que les apasiona utilizar su rostro como lienzo y crear en ellas obras de arte, más bien siento respeto por tener ese “don" por así decirlo, aunque también se basa en la práctica y experiencia. La constancia lo da todo.

However, not everything is negative, they gave the world a rich heritage and culture in peoples like Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland and the rest of the northern European continent.

The Vikings were characterized by the use of decorative makeup when they were on their way to new missions and confrontations, and this is why I decided to engage in this activity.

I had never in my life put on makeup and even less had I done it for myself. I have always seen my sister do it and all the women I have met in life, but I never imagined that I would do it.

Of course, it is about something more "artistic" instead of embellishing.

I'm not against those people who are passionate about using their face as a canvas and creating works of art on it, but rather I feel respect for having this "gift" so to speak, although it is also based on practice and experience.

En mi maquillaje vikingo use pocas cosas:

Sombra para los ojos.
Lápiz para los ojos negro.
Labial rojo.

In my Viking makeup I used few things:

Eye shadow.

Black eye pencil.

Red lipstick.

En el vídeo está todo el procedimiento que realicé para mi yo vikingo. Sin embargo les voy a comentar acá un poquito de lo que hice:

Me lavé la cara antes de incursionar en mi maquillaje.
Con el lápiz marqué el borde inferior de mis ojos.
Apliqué la sombra en todo el contorno de los párpados.
Con el lápiz dibuje una especie de diente que salía desde el borde del ojo izquierdo.
Del otro lado de la cara con el labial rojo hice dos rayas diagonales desde la frente hasta el pómulo.
El resto fueron detalles decorativos: la línea en medio de la boca, la cruz en el ojo izquierdo y las líneas horizontales en la frente.
De vestimenta usé una camisa de algodón vieja y una tela brillante que tenía mi abuela.

In the video is all the procedure that I did for my Viking self, however I will comment here a little bit of what I did:

I washed my face before entering my makeup.

With the pencil I marked the lower edge of my eyes.

I applied the shadow all around my eyelids.

With the pencil I drew a kind of tooth that came out from the edge of my left eye.

On the other side of the face with the red lipstick I made two diagonal lines from the forehead to the cheekbone.

The rest were decorative details: the line in the middle of the mouth, the cross on the left eye and the horizontal lines on the forehead.

For clothing I used an old cotton shirt and a shiny fabric that my grandmother had.

No soy un experto, pero la experiencia estuvo genial. Debo decir que me gustó como quedó.

I'm not an expert, but the experience was great. I must say that I liked the result.

Creyeron que había más vídeos, ¿eh? Lamento decepcionarlos, no va a ser así. Jejeje.

Sólo quería comentarles que luego de hacer todo eso, cuando me fui a lavar la cara fue algo, ¿como decirlo? FATAL.

Toda la pintura no se me caiga a pesar que me limpiara con mucha agua y jabón. La sombra fue lo que salió más rápido; el lápiz y el labial, no.

Lo hice muchas veces y era poco lo que se caiga. Al final me cansé y deje mi cara así, que sea lo que Dios quiera.

Lo peor de todo es que en la tarde salí, no tuve más remedio. Suerte que era domingo y no había nadie por allí.

I just wanted to tell you that after doing all that, when I went to wash my face it was something, how can I say it? HORRIBLE

All the paint doesn't fall off even though I cleaned it with lots of soap and water. The shadow came out fastest; the pencil and lipstick did not.

I did it many times and there was little that fell out. In the end I got tired and left my face like this.

The worst thing is that in the afternoon I went out, I had no choice.
