Escolta de la Bandera Nacional [Esp/Eng Subtitled]

      La cita, viernes 17 pm, en el colegio de mi hijo. Hice lo imposible por terminar temprano, para poder estar, en el cambio de bandera, que se realizaba en el colegio de mi hijo Genaro. A él, todavía le falta un año para terminar su colegio secundario, pero los que terminaban este año, dejan a cargo la protección de la bandera de ceremonias y mi hijo, sería escolta derecha de la misma.

The appointment, Friday 17 pm, at my son's school. I did my best to finish early so I could be at the flag changing ceremony at my son Genaro's school. He still has one more year to finish his high school, but those who finished this year are in charge of the protection of the ceremonial flag and my son would be the right escort of the flag.

      Les cuento, porque para mí y para toda la familia, es muy importante este evento. Primero, siempre que puedo quiero estar acompañando a mis hijos (no siempre puedo). Pero, en este caso, tenía que estar sí o sí. Y aquí, le echo el cuento.
Mi hijo Genaro, los primeros años fue a un colegio privado (que pagarlo, nos costaba sudor y lágrimas) y en el mismo, sufría de bullying, con todo lo que eso le producía. Un niño, con muy baja autoestima, mentía mucho para que no les retemos, etc. Hasta que un día me canse y a pesar de que Marcelo, no quería, lo saque del colegio y lo puse en un público. El cambio, gracias a dios, fue rotundo. Genaro tiene uno de los mejores promedio del colegio, él es abanderado de su turno, pero escolta del colegio en general. Pero, más allá de eso, me emociona, como madre, todo lo que está viviendo y decirle, que estemos atentos a nuestros niños, porque muchas veces o casi siempre, podemos llegar a tiempo y mejorar una situación.

I am telling you, because for me and for the whole family, this event is very important. First, whenever I can, I always want to be with my children (I can't always). But, in this case, I had to be there. And here, I tell you the story.
My son Genaro, the first years he went to a private school (which cost us sweat and tears to pay for) and there, he suffered from bullying, with all that it produced. A child with very low self-esteem, he lied a lot so that we wouldn't challenge him, etc. Until one day I got tired and even though Marcelo didn't want to, I took him out of school and put him in a public school. The change, thank God, was resounding. Genaro has one of the best averages in the school, he is the standard bearer of his shift, but he is the school's escort in general. But, beyond that, as a mother, I am moved by everything he is going through and I want to tell him that we should be attentive to our children, because many times, or almost always, we can arrive in time and improve a situation.

      Pude llegar y vivir un momento único. Sé que si no eres madre, quizás no me entiendas o quizás sí, pero lo importante es saber que, estas experiencias te pueden servir para el futuro. El año que viene, cursa su último año y luego vendrá la universidad, que seguramente el disfrute será distinto.
