We continue celebrating Christmas, and remembering those experiences from past seasons. I remember my parents bought the first Christmas tree, back then I fell asleep on the tree to see the tree lights. The magic of lights and the illusion of a child. Today I share with you my interpretation with the trumpet of "O Christmas Tree", a German carol also known as "O Tannenbaum" composed by Ernst Anschütz in 1824. The song is a simple description of a Christmas tree, its green branches, its balls and their garlands. However, the song also has a deeper meaning, reflecting the values of unity, tradition and joy that are central to the celebration of Christmas. This piece of music is written in AABA ternary form, and is in the key of C major. The melody is simple and diatonic, and moves up and down.

Seguimos celebrando la navidad, y recordando aquellas vivencias de temporadas pasadas. Recuerdo que mis padres compraron el primer árbol navideño, en ese entonces me quede dormido en el mueble para ver las luces de árbol. La magia de las luces y la ilusión de un niño. Hoy les comparto mi interpretación con la trompeta de «O Christmas Tree», un villancico alemán conocido también como “O Tannenbaum” compuesto por Ernst Anschütz en 1824. La canción es una sencilla descripción de un árbol de Navidad, sus ramas verdes, sus bolas y sus guirnaldas. Sin embargo, la canción también tiene un significado más profundo, que refleja los valores de unidad, tradición y alegría que son centrales en la celebración de la Navidad. Esta pieza musical está escrita en forma ternaria AABA, y se encuentra en la tonalidad de C mayor. La melodía es simple y diatónica, y se mueve de forma ascendente y descendente.

The year is ending, and it is a time of reflection and evaluating the goals achieved and the things that have not yet been achieved. I feel satisfied because I have achieved great things in my life, and I think that, if one does not set goals, it is difficult to move forward and progress. At the end of our life we will then realize that we have achieved nothing. When you choose your year-end goals, it is important that they are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. For example, instead of saying "I want to learn to read sheet music," it is better to say "I want to learn to read sheet music in the next six months." This will give you a clear goal to work towards and help you stay motivated. Some things that have helped me set goals are thinking about the dimensions that I want to develop such as physical, spiritual, social and intellectual. I must also establish priorities, create a plan to achieve them and a method to follow up. It is important to track our progress to ensure we are on the right path. Goals reflect the desires of our heart and the will to become better every day.

Está finalizando el año, y es un tiempo de reflexión y de evaluar las metas cumplidas y las cosas que no se han logrado aún. Me siento satisfecho porque he logrado grandes cosas en mi vida, y pienso que, si uno no se pone metas, es difícil avanzar y progresar. Al final de nuestra vida entonces nos daremos cuenta de que no hemos logro nada. Cuando eliges tus metas de fin de año, es importante que sean específicas, medibles, alcanzables, relevantes y limitadas en el tiempo. Por ejemplo, en lugar de decir "Quiero aprender a leer una partitura", es mejor decir "Quiero aprender a leer una partitura en los próximos seis meses". Esto le dará un objetivo claro para trabajar y le ayudará a mantenerse motivado. Algunas cosas que me han ayudado a establecer metas, es pensar en las dimensiones que quiero desarrollar como las físicas, espirituales, sociales e intelectuales. También debo establecer prioridades, crear un plan para cumplirlas y un método para hacer seguimiento. Es importante seguir nuestro progreso para asegurarnos de que estamos en el camino correcto. Las metas reflejan los deseos de nuestro corazón y la voluntad para llegar a ser cada día mejor.
