Hello Diy community! Today, I'm going to be showing you how to make a crochet headband from start to finish in just ten minutes. I made a video tutorial that you can view through 3speak.

To make a crochet headband, you need:

    • Yarn
    • Crocheting pin
    • Scissors
    • Yarn needle.

    Process

First you make a slip knot and insert your hook into the slip knot. Chain eighty chains. I chained eighty because that was the exact fit for my head. The head band isn't supposed to be too tight or too loose, it's supposed to be comfy.

After chaining eighty, I chained an extra one making it eighty-one and then I turned the chain over and inserted my hook in the back loop. I was careful to insert in the back loops so as to get this beautiful pattern. I kept repeating this pattern until I made up to seventeen rows. I didn't want the headband to be so large but still, it depends on your personal preference.

After making enough rows, I didn't just cut off the remaining yarn, I pulled enough yarn to help me close up the edges. After closing up the edge with the remaining yarn, I carefully stitched in the remaining yarn in a square pattern in order to secure my work and when I was done, I cut off the excess yarn.

With that done, the first phase of the headband was done and now I was onto the next phase. The next phase involves getting the bow-like pattern in the front to the head band. All you have to do is hold the headband at the top, middle and bottom and it will give you that bow-pattern. From there, you sew through with a yarn needle.

With that out of the way, you could choose to wear your headband like this or you could give it another look.

Moving on, Iade a slip knot again and made ten chains. The ten chains were enough to go round the bow and from the ten chains, I made five rows. I used this new piece to cover the front of the bow, stitched the edge and sewed in all extra
    yarns.

With that, you have come to the end of your project. This project was easy and fun to do. I made this one using a yellow yarn but I'd probably make my next headband with a black yarn as black goes with every colour.

This is my third finished project since I began my crocheting journey in January. I like the fact that I'm learning very fast. What do you think about the headband?

You could always try it out and if you have any questions, I'm always here to answer them.

    With love, wongi ✨
