Daddy's Little Girl Getting Married

Over the weekend, I had my wedding and it was a two day event. I'm not even royalty to be having a two day wedding but I'm Nigerian and that's how we do it here.

It was an overwhelming experience, not in a terrible way, I mean, I loved it. Everything I feared would go wrong didn't happen and it turned out fun and colourful.

The first day was the payment of the dowry, a small ceremony in my dad's living room. There was eating and drinking and some cultural shenanigans too.

That's my excited dad behind me in the video, clad in his traditional wear just before he gave me out in marriage traditionally.

I love this video so much because I remember how he looked at me, he was so emotional that day although he hides it well. I love my dad so much, there's not a lot of physical show of affection but he's got me anytime. I sure will miss him.
