In this entry I will analyze game number 2 that I played in the Pan American Visual Chess Championship in Colombia.

I wrote an article describing the performance of my Venezuela team in this important championship, you can take a look at the following Link.

Unfortunately in this match I had to face one of my teammates; with the white pieces I faced Juan Polanco, a player from my city and that we have had several disputed games for several years. The game started with a French defense and we ended up playing a side line.

One of the main difficulties my opponent had was the exchange of his white squared bishop, this pronounced the strong weakness of the point on d5.

The game turned complicated at the moment I decided to enter a tactical sequence, of course I kept a good position but it was better to keep pressing black's weakness which was "d5". It was not at all necessary to enter the sacrifice. In the video I go deeper into this.
