    About :

    There are thousands of genres in music itself. Even when we look at the sub-derivatives of pop, rock, jazz music, folk music, etc. genres that are well known in the world, we see that there is a lot of separation. These distinctions are generally related to the instruments used, playing techniques, vocal style, song contents, geography, etc. arises for reasons and causes diversity. This does not mean that there is anything bad or wrong, on the contrary, it makes the music quite rich.

    There are many sub-genres in our folk music and they differ from each other for the reasons I mentioned above. One of these sub-genres is a special folk song form called deyis. Sayings are mystical melodies and they carry divine elements. Its contents are full of spiritual meanings a little more than daily life. In this folk song that I am playing today, the person is calling out to God and is usually begging or praying. There are occasional references to some historical events. In this respect, I can easily state that it is a social and philosophical work. The name of the saying is "my rose-faced sultan", and by sultan, of course, god is meant. :)

    I wish you good listening.

    Note: Since it is almost impossible to translate the entire mystical language of this saying into English, I am only adding a translation of a stanza here. I am presenting this to you so that the content can be understood at least a little.

    Lyrics;

    My rose-faced sultan, don't make me cry
    Isn't it okay to make a lover cry?
    Don't burn my heart with fire of love
    Isn't that fire burning in my heart?

    Lyrics: Dertli Kemter
    Composition: Unknown/Anonym

    Cover of Erdal Erzincan:

    Müziğin kendi içerisinde binlerce türü var. Dünyada çok bilinen pop, rock, caz müzik, halk müziği, vb türlerin alt türevlerine baktığımızda bile oldukça fazla ayrışma olduğunu görürüz. Bu ayrışmalar genelde kullanılan enstrümanlar, çalım teknikleri, vokal tarzı, şarkı içerikleri, coğrafya, vb. sebeplerle ortaya çıkar ve çeşitliliğe sebep olur. Bu asla kötü veya yanlış birşey olduğu anlamına gelmez, bilakis müziği oldukça zengin bir hale getirir.

    Bizim halk müziğimizde de birçok alt tür var ve yukarıda bahsettiğim sebeplerle birbirinden ayrılıyor. Bu alt türlerden birisi de deyiş olarak adlandırılan özel bir türkü formu. Deyişler tasavvufi ezgilerdir ve tanrısal öğeler taşırlar. İçerikleri gündelik hayatın biraz daha dışında manevi anlamlarla doludur. Bugün çaldığım bu türküde kişi tanrıya seslenmekte ve genelde yalvarmakta ya da dua etmektedir. Ara ara da yaşanan tarihsel birtakım olaylara göndermeler bulunur. Bu bakımdan sosyal ve felsefi bir eser olduğunu da rahatlıkla belirtebilirim. Deyişin ismi "gül yüzlü sultanım" ve sultan derken tabiki tanrı kast ediliyor. :)

    İyi dinlemeler diliyorum.
