Enable Cryptocurrency Super Chats While Livestreaming with OBS!

Content creators rely on various revenue streams, including super chats from YouTube where listeners pay to leave highlighted chats. Well, now you can do the same, but receive cryptocurrency instead! Here's how to do it:

This live super chat feature is done through Open Broadcaster Software, or OBS. Go to OBSproject.com to download and install it, and set it up for your stream the way you want it. There’s lots of tutorials out there on how to do this.

First, you need a CoinTree page. Go to CoinTr.ee and click “sign up” and enter an email and password. Then you can set up your profile by adding all your links, as well as the important part: cryptocurrency addresses. Then, click on the “messages” tab. You can also click the sound icon to hear a chime when you receive a donation with a message.

Next, you can either click the link in the description, or go to Github.com/BitcoinJake09, click on CoinTree OBS, and follow the instructions to get the Javascript file that you’ll need. You can also click on the example video for a live setup demonstration. Then, in OBS, select add source, select “browser” (or in my case, Linux browser), switch back to your CoinTree messages page, copy that link, and paste it into the URL field. Then go down to “custom Javascript” and add in the Javascript file. Then, resize the resulting window until you can just see the top part of the donation window.

Now let’s make the window expandable. Under scenes, copy your current scene. In the second scene, expand the CoinTree window to show the whole message. Now you can switch back and forth between the scenes to expand or collapse a super chat!
