Wow! it was a glorious late summer day in Vermont yesterday 😎 70F, sunny, calm, low humidity
Gotta take advantage of these days when they come. We started with our daily walk down to Lake Dunmore in Addison County, Vermont. Its a picturesque small lake in central Vermont. This time of year most of the summer residents and visitors have left. The leaf peepers are a few weeks away. A peaceful time on the lake. And summer still has a few nice days to offer 🙂
Our neighbors invited us to join them on a bike ride so we threw our bikes in the back of my pickup and headed out. We biked on a causeway on Lake Champlain that goes most of the way to one of the Champlain islands. There is a short pass through the causeway to let boats through.
The blue skies and smooth lake were perfect. On the weekends there is even a bike ferry to carry your bike across the pass and onto the town of South Hero on Grand Isle.
Lake Champlain Causeway was an old railroad line connecting Grand Isle to Colchester.
The views are breathtaking... if a little far away for my camera 😉 I added a short video. Mostly just to experiment with posting video. Its my first.
