Trascender en HIVE después de Morir

A few days ago I gave a conference in person and online, where I was asked about the HIVE keys. What happens if someone loses the private keys in HIVE? Do they lose all their money like in Bitcoin?

When I received the question, my answer did not focus on the account recovery system. In Bitcoin for example, some of the early miners or users have passed away; leaving their bitcoin in wallets for eternity. In those wallets there will be no movement. It is said that they are donations to the network, because it makes bitcoin more scarce.

In Hive, on the other hand, the account can continue to have activity, even after the death of the user. Of course anyone can leave instructions to a close relative, what to do with his account. However, even if you do not leave the passwords to anyone, your account can still be alive.

The account of a deceased person can receive Hive, because of his delegations, but this would not give him much life either. On the other hand, belonging to a trail would. Their name would appear on all posts voted by that trail. **There are already cases in Hive of deceased people who are still voting.

Particularly it seems to me a beautiful way to transcend, to continue "alive" after death. Rewarding authors and also remain active on the platform that you loved so much in life, it's amazing.

At some point we talked about this in the community. Most of us didn't know what to do. Today I have it clear; my account will be inherited by my son and he will be able to withdraw the healing earnings but without reducing the HP, so he will keep voting always with the same value for all eternity XD.

Hive is so amazing that it can achieve this. Beyond that the content remains and many generations can see it; but this already happens with any social network (Until the company decides to close). In Hive a more active "life" is maintained thanks to the trails, besides it is more difficult for Hive to close, than a web2 platform.

Accounts can be even more active, and even send money. Thanks to Peakd's recurring payments, an account can make transfers automatically. This way the healing earnings that go to the HP, are settled with a power down and the recurring payment is made to an account. Of course this part would have to be done after the death of the user, i.e. a proxy for the keys. This way that person would not have to worry about the administration of the account, but would do it alone.

Something that I think that should not happen, is that this account is used to publish content. It would only be to vote through a trail.

Another thing that makes it possible, that you can transcend and you are remembered every time they receive a vote from you; is that in Hive the accounts are with username, unlike other blockchain that is an alphanumeric public key that nobody cares about and is extremely difficult to remember.

So here we see another important use of our blockchain and its usernames that facilitate social activity in this place. Also the importance of having the same user across all networks. They will say: In Hive it stays alive.

Personally I think that's a great thing and especially for those of us who understand the power and significance of a positive vote. Of course, there is the opposite case with downvotes trails, but I don't think someone would intentionally plan it that way to spend eternity giving downvotes. However there are many people who are on one of these trails. They should think better with this approach.

I would love to know your opinion on this topic. It may be new to many. In fact it is almost never talked about. Of course the amount of HP is going to be very relevant, because it gives us the value of the vote and the position in the curators window. If we want to be in the top places, we must have more HP. Another reason why in life you should dedicate yourself to accumulate more and everyone after your death will remember you with joy and waiting for your vote 😛.

Hace unos días di una conferencia presencial y online, donde me preguntaron sobre las claves de HIVE. ¿Qué pasa si alguien pierde las llaves privadas en HIVE? ¿Pierde todo su dinero como en Bitcoin?

A diferencia de muchas otras blockchain, HIVE tiene un sistema de seguridad que permite recuperar cuentas. De igual forma debes tener tu llave maestra. Este sistema está diseñado más para robos de claves. Te dejo una guía para recuperación de cuentas.

Cuando recibí la pregunta, mi respuesta no se enfocó en el sistema de recuperación de cuentas. En Bitcoin por ejemplo, algunos de los primeros mineros o usuarios han fallecido; dejando sus bitcoin en las wallets para toda la eternidad. En esas billeteras no habrá ningún movimiento. Se dice que son donaciones a la red, porque hace más escaso el bitcoin.

En cambio en Hive la cuenta puede seguir teniendo actividad, incluso después de la muerte del usuario. Por supuesto que cualquiera puede dejar instrucciones a un pariente cercano, sobre qué hacer con su cuenta. Sin embargo incluso si no deja las claves a nadie, su cuenta puede seguir con vida.

La cuenta de una persona fallecida puede recibir Hive, por sus delegaciones, pero esto no le daría mucha vida tampoco. En cambio pertenecer a un trail sí. Su nombre aparecería en todos los post que vote ese trail. Ya hay casos en Hive de personas fallecidas que siguen votando.

Particularmente me parece una manera hermosa de transcender, de seguir "vivo" despues de la muerte. Recompensar a autores y además seguir activo en la plataforma que tanto amaste en vida, es increíble.

En algún momento hablamos sobre esto en la comunidad. La mayoría no sabía que hacer. Hoy lo tengo claro; mi cuenta la heredará mi hijo y podrá retirar las ganancias por curación pero sin reducir el HP, para que siga votando siempre con el mismo valor por toda la eternidad XD.

Hive es tan increíble que puede lograr esto. Más allá de que el contenido quede y muchas generaciones lo puedan ver; pero esto ya ocurre con cualquier red social (Hasta que la empresa decida cerrar). En Hive se mantiene una "vida" más activa gracias a los trails, además que es más difícil que Hive cierre, que una plataforma de web2.

Las cuentas pueden ser aún más activas, e incluso enviar dinero. Gracias a los pagos recurrentes de Peakd, una cuenta puede hacer transferencias de forma automática. De esta manera las ganancias por curación que van al HP, se liquidan con un power down y se hace el pago recurrente a una cuenta. Por supuesto que esta parte habría que hacerla despues de fallecer el ususario; o sea un apoderado de las claves. De esta forma esa persona no tendría que preocuparse de la administración de la cuenta, sino que esta lo haría sola.

Algo que pienso que no debería pasar, es que se use esa cuenta para publicar contenido. Sería solo para votar a traves de un trail.

Otra de las cosas que hacen posible, que puedes transcender y te recuerden cada vez que reciben un voto tuyo; es que en Hive las cuentas son con nombre de usuario, a diferencia de otras blockchain que es una llave pública alfanumérica que a nadie le importa y es extremadamente difícil de recordar.

Así que aquí vemos otro uso importante de nuestra blockchain y sus nombres de usuarios que facilitan la actividad social en este lugar. También la importancia de tener el mismo usuarios en todas las redes. Dirán: En Hive se mantiene vivo.

Personalmente pienso que es algo grandioso y sobre todo para los que entendemos el poder y significado de un voto positivo. Por supuesto, está el caso contrario con los trails de downvotes, pero no creo que alguien lo planee así de forma intencional para pasar la eternidad dando downvotes. Sin embargo hay muchas personas que están en alguno de estos trails. Deberían pensarlo mejor con este enfoque.

Me encantaría saber tu opinión en este tema. Puede ser nuevo para muchos. De hecho casi nunca se habla de esto. Por supuesto la cantidad de HP va a ser muy relevante, porque nos da el valor del voto y la posición en la ventana de curadores. Si queremos estar en los primeros lugares, debemos tener más HP. Otro motivo para que en vida te dediques a acumular más y que todos después de tu muerte te recuerden con alegría y esperando tu voto 😛.
