ESPAÑOL Creo que cuando se anunció el juego de Marvel Spiderman, todo fanático poseedor de una PlayStation grito de emoción, al menos en mi caso fue así. Me pasé muchos años esperando una buena adaptación de el a un videojuego, una que me hiciera sentir lo que sentí con aquel juego en la Playstation 2, un SandBox donde te permitan llevar a Spiderman y columpiarte por toda la ciudad, mientras te cuentan su historia.

ENGLISH Think when the Marvel Spiderman game was announced, every PlayStation fan screamed with excitement, at least in my case it was like that. I spent many years waiting for a good adaptation of it to a video game, one that would make me feel what I felt with that game on the Playstation 2, a SandBox where they let you take Spiderman and swing all over the city, while they tell you his story.

Este juego tiene tantos aspectos positivos que se haría un post muy largo si nos ponemos a analizar todos y cada uno de ellos, así que decidí centrarme en uno, el cual personalmente me encanta y considero de los más espectaculares, el combate.

This game has so many positive aspects that it would be a very long post if we were to analyze each and every one of them, so I decided to focus on one, which I personally love and consider one of the most spectacular, the combat.

Si tuviste una Playstation 3 o una Xbox 360 de seguro habrás jugado algún juego de la saga “Arkham” esa famosa saga de videojuegos centrados en Batman, pero ¿Por qué lo mencionamos? Porque la desarrolladora de estas sagas es la misma que desarrollo Marvel Spiderman y resulta casi imposible que, al estar jugando Marvel Spiderman no tengas recuerdos de Batma Arkham, el combate es calcado, con algunas mejoras para su fluidez.

If you had a Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 surely you have played a game of the "Arkham" saga, that famous saga of video games focused on Batman, but why do we mention it? Because the developer of these sagas is the same that developed Marvel Spiderman and it is almost impossible that, when playing Marvel Spiderman you don't have memories of Batman Arkham, the combat is the same, with some improvements for its fluidity.

Sin embargo ¿Por qué se siente un poco más pulido en Spiderman? Creo que tengo la respuesta a eso, al ser un estilo de combate frenético, en el que debes esquivar, hacer counters e intentar conectar la mayor cantidad de combos posibles, Spiderman es el sujeto perfecto para adaptarse a eso, sus habilidades están hechas para moverse de esa forma, por lo tanto, los desarrolladores tienen más libertad a la hora de ponerlo a realizar todo tipo de piruetas.

However, why does it feel a bit more polished in Spider-Man? I think I have the answer to that, being a frantic fighting style, where you have to dodge, do counters and try to connect as many combos as possible, Spiderman is the perfect subject to adapt to that, his abilities are made to move that way, therefore, the developers have more freedom when it comes to putting him to perform all kinds of pirouettes.

Por el contrario, Batman, es un sujeto un poco más “estratégico”, seas lector de comics o no, creo que todos estaremos de acuerdo en que algunos movimientos de la saga Arkham resultaban algo extraños verlos ejecutados por Batman, movimientos como deslizarse rápidamente entre las piernas de los enemigos, dar saltos mortales hacia atrás, entre otros. Batman es más de eliminar a sus enemigos sigilosamente uno por uno, lo cual está bien plasmado en las sagas de Arkham, creo que en esos momentos de quietud era donde más brillaba, ir acabando uno a uno con tus enemigos en la oscuridad sin activar alguna alarma, te sentías como un verdadero “caballero de la noche”.

Batman, on the other hand, is a more "strategic" guy, whether you are a comic book reader or not, I think we all agree that some moves in the Arkham saga were a bit strange to see executed by Batman, moves like sliding quickly between the legs of the enemies, somersaulting backwards, among others.Batman is more about eliminating his enemies stealthily one by one, which is well captured in the Arkham sagas, I think that in those moments of stillness was where he shone the most, finishing one by one with your enemies in the dark without activating any alarm, you felt like a true "knight of the night"

Pero regresemos al título del post, el combate en Marvel Spiderman es de mis favoritos, en cierta forma el juego te premia el tener “buenos reflejos” con los esquives o contra-ataques y al mismo tiempo es una mecánica sencilla para que puedas acostumbrarte a él fácilmente, sin mencionar lo espectacular que resulta verlo en acción. Pero no importa cuántas veces diga lo increíble que es, mis palabras no lograran hacerle justicia, así que decidí mostrárselos en un pequeño video y que ustedes mismos puedan juzgarlo:

But back to the title of the post, the combat in Marvel Spider-Man is one of my favorites, in a way the game rewards you for having "good reflexes" with dodges or counter-attacks and at the same time it's a simple mechanic so you can get used to it easily, not to mention how spectacular it is to see it in action.
