The only way to defend ourselves is to give them their space

The morning was a fun filled morning with monkeys doing a high voltage dram in our apartment. I was on my morning walk/run schedule, and saw a gang coming in and climbing to the roof top. Then they hang out for some time there, probably searching for some food. And after 10 -15 minutes, they started coming down, and going to balconies. Most of the balconies are open ( only few are closed with extra grills), and they started throwing things from balconies. People started shouting and trying to throw water at them. But they were kind of determined. After some time, one of our guard, figured out that they are looking for food. He ran and brought few packets of biscuits and showed that to them. Instantly, they came down. The guard was brave, and just stood there, and gave them few to eat. And then he slowly moved them towards the gate, away from the building. Most went away after that, but couple of them seems interpreted that there can be more, so they followed him and then what happened was just amazing. They were very politely taking biscuits from his hand and eating them , without any fear.

It was very much fun watching them, but one thing is clear - they are not going to fear us, if they do not get what they want - their food. And we are the ones, destroying their natural inhabitation - the forest. So they come out in search for food and then it's very difficult to control them, once they surpass the fear benchmark. May be time has come to rethink - give them their space, else they will come and take out ours ?
