Yesterday, my wife and I decided to go for lunch at the Jarr Bar, which is in Pretoria.
We went in support of our friend’s daughter who plays in a Jazz Quartet. This girl really works hard to make a living out of her music. It is not easy to make a living from music in South Africa. She plays in 4 groups, she also teaches music part time at a local high school and she is still busy studding towards her masters degree in music!!
The music was great and we also had some delicious pizza, and as everybody knows, Beer is the perfect complimentary drink for pizza. I had two different beers from Jack Black Brewery, one a Pale Ale and the other a Lager.
This venue, asks a cover charge, and all proceeds from the cover charge goes to the musicians performing there. This is a nice win-win situation, as the performers draw an audience and everybody drinks or eat something from the restaurant / bar!!
My friend’s daughter is the on the keys. She is also the one who compiles the music for the band. As I mentioned before this is a quartet, but the poor drummer is not visible, as he is sitting behind the glass!!
I hope you enjoyed the post and that you have a wonderful day!
