Frederics Unceromious Shuffling #freewrite - Prompt -'Herd of Sheep'

Frederic awoke once again, it was a reasonable day, and the weather looked like it was going to be quite fine.

While Frederic was having his breakfast he contemplated that things just seemed to be the same every day, and he wondered if there would be any difference today that would make his life just that little bit more spicy.
He ate his breakfast in silence.

As usual after about 30 minutes he looked up and it was time to move. Here we go again Frederic thought.

As he shuffled along amongst the crowd he thought to himself, there really has to be more meaning to life than this, every day we shuffle in the crowd, getting jostled this way and that and, through this entrance, out that entrance all the while trying to establish what the meaning to all this was.

Frederic knew that when he was young, life was always full of adventure and he would be able to play and run and enjoy the sun. It just seemed that since he became an adult life was the same every single day and he was starting to think there had to be greater meaning to life.

Sometimes the crowds seemed to be in a bigger rush than other times and he would always find himself being carried along by the crush of it all and sometimes he felt that he could even just let the wave push him along and give not a single thought, not a single care where it took him.

Frederic often spent the day just thinking that he was going to have to do all this again tomorrow.

People had a saying for this kind of existence however Frederic just couldn’t think of what that was at the moment.

Today did seem a little different though, the rush was not quite as hurried, Frederic didn’t mind, he knew that he would always get to where he needed to be in time. He then realised up ahead there was a bottle neck forming, What’s happened he thought, this gave him some level of excitement, It was kind of refreshing to have something different happen. A sort of respite in the what was normally a Mundane existence.

Oh dear he thought as he saw some of his fellow travelers getting a bit flustered at what was happening ahead.

As he inched closer and closer to what seemed like the source of the bottleneck he could see that the pathway had been blocked, well not blocked but narrowed and everyone was being shuffled into what appeared to be a sort of chute.

Oh Goodness, Frederic thought, I remember now, its shearing time, no wonder all the youngsters are panicking, they have not experienced this before.

At that point Frederic reached the chute, slid down it like a child on a slipping slide only to be caught at the other end and unceremoniously dragged to a stall where the shearer began his yearly task of fleecing Frederic of his entire woolen coat.
