I go on hikes a lot in Mauritius. I basically just roam around and shoot what I like and show my people.
Now I have my DJI Osmo Pocket, I can shoot on the go without carrying big camer rigs and I still get cinematic scenes.
Arguably one of the ‘must do’ mountain hikes in Mauritius is the mountain climbing hike taking you all the way up to the highest peak of the island at 828 meters (2717 feet) high. Piton de la Petite Riviere Noire is found on the far western side of the Black river Gorges. This trail takes you to the highest peak in Mauritius along an easy route due to the high starting elevation. From the summit there are excellent views of Le Morne, Tamarin, the many waterfalls within the gorge, and the west coast. Following the trail is no problem as it is wide and well worn. The trail is well shaded. You will see all these in my scenes.
