What's up Sketchbook friends! I'm pleased to join this community and share my first post here as part of an initiative that the hivers in Aragua have, to create a logo that identifies this community. I was invited by my friend @maitt87 and as a native of this state I couldn't resist to contribute with my grain of sand.

¡Qué tal amigos de Sketchbook! Me complace unirme a esta comunidad y compartir mi primer post aquí como parte de una iniciativa que tienen los hivers aragüeños, para crear un logo que identifique a esta comunidad. Fui invitada por mi amiga @maitt87 y como nativa de este estado no me pude resistir a contribuir con mi granito de arena.

Aragua is a state that is called the crossroads of all roads, so there is plenty of material for a logo. I was inspired by the beautiful coasts of Aragua, for me the best in the country and the ones I used to go to as a child. I must say that I'm not an expert in design, but I've taught myself how to use some programs. For this logo, I will do a mix between Illustrator and Photoshop.

Aragua es un estado que se denomina la encrucijada de todos los caminos, así que material para un logo, hay muchísimo. Yo me inspiré en las bellas costas aragüeñas, para mí las mejores del país y a las que acostumbraba ir de niña. Debo decir que no soy experta en diseños, pero he aprendido de forma autodidacta a manejar algunos programas. Para este logo, haré una mezcla entre Illustrator y Photoshop.

The idea started first on paper, trying to recreate a bit of the beautiful bay. Then, I transferred that drawing to Illustrator, an excellent program to create vector images, so, with the pen tool, I created each of the parts of my drawing.

La idea comenzó primero en papel, tratando de recrear un poco la hermosa bahía. Luego, pasé ese dibujo a Illustrator, un excelente programa para crear imágenes vectoriales, así que, con la herramienta pluma, fui creando cada una de las partes de mi dibujo.

Once I was satisfied with all the shapes of my design, I went to Photoshop, the ideal program for photomontages and image manipulation, here I would give some gradient touches I had in mind.

I started first with the mountains, that immense green wall that separates the coast from the valley of Aragua. I wanted to apply a vibrant green gradient and a little darker at the top. After that, I went on to give color to the cliff that can be seen in the distance, I used earth colors for that and then added a rock texture through a layer mask.

Una vez que estuve conforme con todas las formas de mi diseño, pasé a Photoshop, el programa ideal para fotomontajes y manipulación de imágenes, aquí le daría algunos toques de degradado que tenía en mente.

Comencé primeramente por las montañas, esa inmensa pared verde que separa las costas del valle aragüeño. Quería aplicar un degradado verde vibrante y un poco más oscuro en la cima. Posterior a esto, pasé a darle color al risco que se ve a lo lejos, utilicé colores tierra para eso y posterior agregué una textura de roca a través de una máscara de capa.

After that, for the sand, I chose a light color, but my intention was also to give it texture, for which thanks to Freepik I was able to get a real sand image and applied a layer mask.

For the blue of the sea, I also wanted to give it a more realistic look and implemented the same technique as with the sand, a sea photo and a layer mask.

Posterior a eso, para la arena, escogí un color claro, pero mi intención era también darle textura, para lo cual gracias a Freepik pude conseguir una imagen de arena real y apliqué una máscara de capa.

Para el azul del mar, también quería darle un aspecto más real e implementé la misma técnica que con la arena, una foto de mar y una máscara de capa.

When I imagined this scene, I envisioned it as a sunset, so the sun has that orange touch of sunset and the palm trees are with a brown gradient.

To give a touch of sobriety to my logo, I could not miss the iconic buildings that are in the tasting bay, which I wanted to keep in black.

Cuando imaginé esta escena, la vislumbré como un atardecer, por lo cual el sol tiene ese toque naranja del ocaso y las palmeras son con un degradado marrón.

Para dar un toque de sobriedad a mi logo, no podían faltar los icónicos edificios que se encuentran en la bahía de cata, los cuales quise conservar en color negro.

With all the elements as I wanted it was time to create something that gives unity and what better than an oval with the colors of our blockchain, so I used a red gradient. I wanted the palm trees and buildings to stand out from that oval and the rest to stay inside as a whole.

Con todos los elementos como deseaba era momento de crear algo que diera unidad y qué mejor que un ovalo con los colores de nuestra blockchain, por lo cual utilicé un degradado de rojos. Quería que las palmeras y edificios sobresalieran de ese ovalo y lo demás permaneciera dentro como un conjunto.

It was time to add the words Hive Aragua, which are bordering the oval. The font used is Vintage Party, and is available at dafont.com. The letters are in black color, with a white stroke and an outer relief and to crown it, I added the logo of our blockchain next to the word Hive and this is how my proposal looks like.

Era momento de agregar las palabras Hive Aragua, las cuales están bordeando el ovalo. La fuente utilizada es Vintage Party, y se puede conseguir en dafont.com. Las letras están en color negro, con un trazo blanco y un relieve exterior y para coronarlo, agregué el logo de nuestra blockchain al lado de la palabra Hive y así es como queda mi propuesta.
