Warm greetings, friend of Hive DIY! Today I want to show you a nice craft with recycled materials, which is a musical instrument perfect for the little ones in the house. It is a Botellophone or Xylophone made of bottles. Join me to see the step by step.

¡Un caluroso saludo, amigo de Hive DIY! El día de hoy quiero mostrarles una bonita manualidad con materiales reciclados, que es demás un instrumento musical ideal para los más pequeños de la casa. Se trata de un Botellófono o Xilófono de botellas. Acompáñenme a ver el paso a paso.

We will need: Glass bottles, reusable polyethylene sheets, cutter, wooden sticks, pencil and white glue.

Vamos a necesitar: Botellas de vidrio, láminas de anime reutilizables, cúter, palillos de madera, lapicero y pega blanca.

First of all we are going to make sure to cut a rectangular piece of polyethylene sheet of a suitable size to hold the bottles.

Ante todo vamos a cerciorarnos de cortar un trozo de anime rectangular de un tamaño adecuado para albergar las botellas.

We take another polyethylene sheet and mark a strip and then cut it out.

Tomamos otra lámina de anime y marcamos una franja para luego cortarla.

I cut and joined two strips to make a higher backing for the top of the bottles; I glued it with the help of wooden sticks and white glue.

Yo finalmente corté y uní dos franjas para hacer un respaldo más alto para la parte superior las botellas; lo pegue con la ayuda de los palillos de madera y pega blanca.

I marked some distance on the backing and made indentations where the bottles will rest, helping me with the bottle spouts, which I heated.

I decorated the back with some beautiful stickers that my friends from Sound Music and Hive Arte gave me.

Marqué cierta distancia en el respaldo y realicé hendiduras donde reposarán las botellas, ayudándome con los picos de las mismas, los cuales calenté.

Adorné el respaldo con unas bonitas etiquetas que me regalaron los amigos de Sound Music y Hive Arte.

The only thing left to do is to place the bottles in order.

Solo falta ubicar las botellas en orden.

Let me tell you that this instrument is usually made with 8 bottles of the same type; we fill the first one to the top with water, then the next one with less amount of liquid, and so on, and the last bottle would be empty.

In my case I had different types of bottles, which varied in size and thickness, so I had to try the tones of the musical scale with the help of my guitar, filling more or less each bottle.

Les indico que este instrumento se suele hacer con 8 botellas del mismo tipo; vamos llenado de agua la primera hasta el tope, luego la siguiente con menor cantidad de líquido, así sucesivamente, y la última botella quedaría vacía.

En mi caso tenia diferentes tipos de botellas, que variaban en tamaño y grosor, por lo que tuve que ir probando los tonos de la escala musical con la ayuda de mi guitarra, llenando más o menos cada botella.

Once the bottles were placed on the polyethylene plate, I placed stickers with the names of the musical notes to better identify them.

And that's how our Bottlephone looks like.

Una vez ubicadas las botellas en la placa de anime les coloqué etiquetas con los nombres de las notas musicales para identificarlas mejor.

Y así queda nuestro Botellófono.
