Greetings, Hive friends! Today I want to show you another craft tutorial with recycled materials. These are two napkin holders and a coaster made with Tetra Pak. Let's go to the step by step.

We will need Tetra Pak boxes, liquid silicone, white glue, a paintbrush, ruler, scissors, marker, and magazine clippings.

¡Saludos, amigos de Hive! El día de hoy quiero mostrarles otro tutorial de manualidades con materiales reciclados. Se trata de dos servilleteros y un posavasos hechos a partir de Tetra Pak. Vamos al paso a paso.

Vamos a necesitar Cajas de Tetra Pak, silicón líquido, pega blanca, un pincel, regla, tijera, marcador, y recortes de revistas.

We start by cutting the box in half to obtain two equal parts, and then we cut the flaps on the top of the box and glue the edges with silicone, so that our two halves are identical.

Iniciamos recortando la caja por la mitad para obtener dos partes iguales, luego cortamos las solapas de la parte superior de la caja y pegamos los bordes con silicón, de modo que nuestras dos mitades sean idénticas.

Now, we mark and cut out some angles on the sides of the boxes, which is where the napkins will go. I made a circular cut on the front of the box, but you can make any design you prefer. And this is how the napkin rings look once they are cut out.

Next, we cover our napkin holders. First I covered them with white paper to make a base; you can use the material of your preference.

Posteriormente pasamos a forrar nuestros servilleteros. Primero los cubrí con papel blanco para hacer una base; ustedes pueden usar el material de su preferencia.

Then we decorate them according to our liking, I used magazine clippings with food and drink motifs, for this part I used white glue which I spread with the help of a brush.

Luego pasamos a adornarlos según nuestro gusto, yo utilicé recortes de revistas con motivos de comidas y bebidas, para esta parte usé pega blanca la cual esparcí con la ayuda de un pincel.

And here are our napkin holders. A very useful element on our table. It is very important to recycle, because this way we can create very useful things for our home while being environmentally friendly.

Y así quedan nuestros servilleteros. Un elemento muy útil en nuestra mesa. Es muy importante reciclar, ya que así podemos crear cosas muy útiles para nuestro hogar a la vez que somos amigables con el medio ambiente.

Now, I will show you how to make a coaster. For that we will use 1 Tetra Pak box, to which we will remove the top and bottom and cut out the front side, just where the joint goes. The good thing about these boxes is that the inside is a very striking silver color and it is also a very waterproof material.

Ahora, les mostraré cómo hacer un posavasos. Para eso utilizaremos 1 caja de Tetra Pak, a la cual le vamos a remover la parte superior e inferior y recortaremos por la cara frontal, justo donde va la unión. Lo bueno de estas cajas es que su interior es de un color plateado muy llamativo y además es un material bastante impermeable.

Then, we mark strips of 1 cm and a half, and then we cut the strips.

Luego, marcamos tiras de 1 cm y medio, posteriormente recortamos las tiras.

Now we interlace the strips, we place half of the strips vertically and the other half horizontally and we interlace them passing one at the bottom and the other at the top as shown in the image. It is necessary to tighten the weave from all sides so that our coaster is well reinforced.

Pasamos a entrelazar las tiras, colocamos la mitad de las tiras de manera vertical y la otra mitad de manera horizontal y entrelazamos pasando una por abajo y otra por arriba como vemos en la imagen. Es necesario apretar la trama desde todos los costados para que nuestro posavasos quede bien reforzado.

Then we glue the upper outer flaps with silicone to fix our coaster well and trim the excess ends to achieve a perfect square.

Luego pegamos las solapas superiores externas con silicón para fijar bien nuestro posavasos y recortamos las puntas excedentes para lograr un cuadrado perfecto.

To make our coaster more resistant and waterproof we are going to place a foamy base which we will glue with abundant silicone.

Para hacer nuestro posavasos más resistente e impermeable le vamos a colocar una base de foamy la cual pegaremos con abundante silicón.

And that's how our silver weave coaster looks, very nice and eye-catching, where we can place our favorite coffee cup and avoid staining the surfaces.

Y así queda nuestro posábamos de trama plateada, muy bonito y llamativo, en él podemos colocar nuestra taza de café favorita y evitar que se manchen las superficies.
