About a month ago. In the State of La Guaira, Venezuela an Aquatic Expo was held in the Port of La Guaira.

One of the attractions was to embark on various boats. From tugboats, motorboats or the Simón Bolívar school ship.

School Ship is a term only used by the Navy, they are old ships that, although they can be propelled by sail, also have engines to navigate.

Its purpose is to train cadets of the Naval School, as well as to project the level of naval education in Venezuela, as well as to strengthen relations with other navies of foreign countries.
The Simón Bolívar was built in 1978, launched on November 21, 1979, and affirmed to the national flag on August 12, 1980.

It was built at the Celaya Shipyard in Bilbao.

A training ship has three sails. The first one located at the stern is called Mizzen, the second one in the midships, which is the largest, called Main mast, the last one located at the bow is called Foremast.

These terms may confuse you. But I will explain them quickly.

The bow is the forward part of a ship, the after part is called the stern. The right side is starboard and the left side is port. These are basic concepts to know the locations of things on board.
