Frosted Winter is a DLC-type (unofficial) mod developed by the well-known GTA community modder known as Pistukas, or Pistukas Mods. This mod expands the story of GTA 3, placing us in the year 2002 (one year after the events of GTA 3) and this time playing as the son and main heir of Salvatore Leone, Joey Leone, in addition to adding a completely new story. This mod also changes Liberty City in many ways, with the main highlight being the new winter environment that completely changes the appearance of the city, immersing it in a cold winter.

Frosted Winter es un mod del tipo DLC (no oficial) desarrollado por el conocido modder de la comunidad GTA conocido como Pistukas, o Pistukas Mods. Este mod se encarga de expandir la historia de GTA 3, ubicándonos en el año 2002 (un año después de los sucesos de GTA 3) e interpretando esta vez al hijo y principal heredero de Salvatore Leone, Joey Leone, además de agregar una historia totalmente nueva, también este mod cambia en muchos aspectos a la ciudad de Liberty City, destacándose principalmente el nuevo ambiente invernal que cambia totalmente la apariencia de la ciudad sumergiéndola en un frío invierno.

3Short-Summary.

On a cold night, we began our surveillance patrol from our FBI squad car in Chinatown (Portland), a triad stronghold and site of many fraudulent operations in Liberty City.

En una fría noche, y desde nuestro patrullero del FBI comenzamos la ronda de vigilancia por Chinatown (Portland), zona de las triadas y lugar de muchas operaciones fraudulentas en Liberty City.

In an alleyway in Chinatown, we find the option to start a gang massacre. Since this is the Triads' turf, we will face them directly.

En un callejón de Chinatown conseguimos la opción de comenzar una masacre de bandas, la cual por ser esta la zona de las triadas nos llevará a un combate directo en contra de las triadas.

However, these massacre side missions are a challenge for the player, as you can only use a specific weapon and you have to eliminate a certain number of enemies within a limited time frame. Depending on the gang, the weapon provided, and the time available, these massacre missions can become quite difficult.

Pero como se sabe en estas misiones secundarias de masacres, implican un reto al jugador ya que implican el uso de una sola arma impuesta por la misión secundaria, al igual que completar la eliminación de una cierta cantidad de enemigos en un cierto intervalo de tiempo, así que dependiendo de la banda a la que se enfrente, el arma que se nos proporcione y el intervalo de tiempo, estas misiones de masacre pueden llegar a complicarse en buena medida.

The weapon assigned for the massacre mission was the Uzi. While it has a high rate of fire, it usually takes multiple shots to take down enemies, especially if you don't aim for the head. Therefore, movement and accuracy are essential to completing this gang massacre.

El arma asignada por la misión de masacre fue la Uzi, la cual aunque muy rápida, generalmente hay que disparar varias veces a los enemigos para poder abatirlos, sobre todo si no disparas justo a la cabeza. Por lo tanto, el movimiento y la precisión es indispensable si se quiere superar esta masacre de bandas.

As I mentioned before, the key to using the mini Uzi is constant movement. Keep firing and moving at all times. Additionally, the Triads' numerical superiority can easily overwhelm you, even if they're only armed with bats or 9mm pistols. When they surround you, you'll see your armor and health deplete rapidly.

Como dije anteriormente, lo importante con la mini uzi es el movimiento, es básicamente dispara y muévete. Además al tener la superioridad numérica los triadas pueden saturarte con mucha facilidad a pesar de que todos portan bates o 9mm, cuando estos te rodean puedes ver como disminuye tu cantidad de chaleco y vida velozmente.

At this point, I had already lost all my armor and 14 health points. I was forced to become more cautious and started using any object as cover to minimize the damage I took. By the way, the crouching ability provided by the Classic Axis III mod for GTA III is really great.

En este punto ya había perdido todo el blindaje y 14 puntos de vida, por lo que tuve que volverme más cauteloso y comenzar a utilizar cualquier objeto para cubrirme y comenzar a recibir la menor cantidad de daño. Por cierto, es genial la capacidad de agacharse que nos brinda en el GTA III el mod: **Classic Axis III. **

Upon successful completion of the Triad attack, you will be rewarded with a total of $5000. This is a significant amount, considering the high cost of weapons and some properties in the icy Liberty City presented in the Frosted Winter mod.

Al terminar el ataque a los triadas de manera exitosa se nos otorgarán como recompensa un total de 5000$, los cuales no nos van nada mal teniendo en cuenta lo costosas pueden llegar a ser las armas y algunas propiedades que se pueden comprar en la gélida Liberty City que nos presenta este mod de Frosted Winter.

In addition to the high cost of these items, it's worth noting that in Frosted Winter, each car repaint costs $1000, compared to THE 100$ IN THE GTA III classic.

Por cierto, además de las costosas que pueden ser las cosas mencionadas en el párrafo anterior, también podemos resaltar que en Frosted Winter cada repintada del coche nos cuesta unos 1000$ a diferencia de los 100$ del Gta III clásico.

We finally get into our FBI Cruiser HD and leave the scene.
