Hello Mermaids!👋
Another week's about to end! I always look forward to the weekend simply because it's my time to shine underwater. But about four years ago, I used to rely in life jackets. I made sure that I have a life jacket wrapped
around my body during any open sea activity (e.g.. island hopping, traversering one Province to another). Although I've always been the brave lady that I am now, staring at the underwater creatures from the ocean's surface was my weakness. I trembled whenever I couldn't seem to figure where the ocean floor is or if there's even one. That's why I never learned to swim back then. I'll share with you how I learned and conquered my fears some other time.
The thing is that I never imagined I'll be able to do what I do now. But similar with any other skills, I started with the basics. In freediving, you should start with the basic and one should learn it from experts, not from friends (who just happened to learn it from someone else also). But if your friend is a Certified Freediving Instruction, might as well grab the free introductory class. In my last video, I shared what happens during a line training. After our line training, Marion John, a National Record Holder, taught us how to do basic duck dive which propelled us underwater.
I can remember how my heart fluttered when I learned how to duck dive. At the moment tho, I'm no longer using this technique. But yes, it's always a good time to look back where I started.
Have fun watching the noob Patsitivity as she had fun in her first ever freedive.
See you in my next dive!
