Peace
Dear Splinters,
It is the starting of the weekend and I am pleased to share with the Splinterlands community my adventure with Lava Spider. This match was about a fire duel in the arena.
The battle started with a clear presentation of the ruleset. Noxious fume contaminated the arena so both teams were exposed to the damages. Taking sides and the limited mana at 22 were the additional elements as the rule of engagement in this match.
As I was selecting my lineup, I could not imagine the opponent's choice of a similar summoner. I knew the noxious fume must be dealt with otherwise all my team monsters wouldn't survive.
Summoner on the battleground was Quid Yuff Lv6 and Lv4
--
All monsters on the battlefield had the piercing ability. It didn't come to be useful when considering my offensive position. However, the opponent made good use of the piercing ability each time his monsters stroke my Lava Launcher.
In general, the low mana cap battles are heavily focused on the usage of multiple abilities.
The noxious fume was causing too much damage that I had to quickly conclude the match. Round three was the last exchange of attacks between both teams.
My strategies
My lineup was constructed to withstand the noxious fume additional damage on top of the opponent's strikes. I placed the Lava launcher as a tank in the first position in the line. I provided support to the Lava Launcher with the healing ability provided by Queen and the cleansing offered by Scavo. Lava Spider played a major role by attacking the range magic monsters behind the enemy line. The repair ability from Monkey was a bonus during this match.
Did my strategy work?
I was glad to see my strategy perfectly executed in the arena. The noxious fume took out most of my line up but the cleansing operation on Lava launcher protected the formation up to the last round. My opponent took on both damage generated by the arena ruleset but also originated by the heavy strikes coming from my team. Three rounds were enough to declare my team victorious.

Do I often select Lava Spider to fight in the arena? why or why not
I rarely play Lava Spider in the Gold league. However, the low mana ruleset shows the utility to set up the Lava spider in ones' team. I will keep in mind the Lava Spider for future battles with the fire elemental monsters. Snare and Snipe abilities at level six make the Lava Spider an interesting card to consider in the players' teams.
Thanks for the battle challenge curation team. My lineup team selection was based on offensive strategy due to the battle ruleset.
