Quiero el día de hoy mostrar una partida de ajedrez jugada en el año de 1886, en la que se lleva a cabo lo que he decidido llamar Rendición Profesional. Debo decir que es el momento en que ya no tienes oportunidad de ganar y por voluntad propia te rindes, esto nos es un acto de cobardía sino más bien es una muestra de respeto tanto para ti como para tu rival, muchas veces cuando se decide seguir con el juego sabiendo que no tienes oportunidad de ganar simplemente perderás piezas en cada jugada alargando así más tu derrota.

Today I want to show a chess game played in the year 1886, in which what I have decided to call Professional Surrender is carried out. I must say that this is the moment when you no longer have a chance to win and by your own will you surrender, this is not an act of cowardice but rather a show of respect for both you and your opponent, many times when you decide to continue with the game knowing that you have no chance to win you will simply lose pieces in each move thus further extending your defeat.

Wilhelm Steinitz(piezas blancas) vs Johannes Zukertort (piezas negras)

En 1886 se llevaría a cabo el primer campeonato mundial de ajedrez organizado siendo estos dos los máximos exponentes y protagonistas de la final el 29 de Marzo de 1886. Wilhelm Steinitz llevaba las piezas blancas mientras que en el lado opuesto del tablero con las piezas negras estaba Johannes Zukertort. Cabe destacar que estos dos protagonizaron una rivalidad grande en esos tiempos, claro está, ambos fueron campeones mundiales. En base a la partida jugada todo comenzó muy normal con una Apertura vienesa como lo muestra la imagen.

Como le digo hasta aquí es algo normal ya que las dos primeras jugadas son E4, E5 luego las blancas sacan su caballo a C3 para defender a su peón de C3 y a su vez atacar la casilla D5.

As I have said so far it is normal since the first two moves are E4, E5 then White draws his knight to C3 to defend his pawn from C3 and in turn attacks the square D5.

El Error./The Error.

El primer error en el juego llegar por parte de las piezas negras en un movimiento prematuro de su dama.

Con tan solo unos pocos movimientos Zukertort decide poner su dama en juego y no es bueno ponerla en juego con tan pocas piezas desarrolladas, claro el lo hace para evitar que Steinitz capture el caballo que tiene en C6 y esperando algún error de Steinitz si buscar cubrir su rey en lugar de moverlo.

With just a few moves Zukertort decides to put his queen in play and it is not good to put it in play with so few developed pieces, of course he does it to prevent Steinitz from capturing the knight he has in C6 and waiting for some mistake from Steinitz if he tries to cover his king instead of moving it.

Sacrificio del juego./ Sacrifice of the game

En la jugada 17, Steinitz hace un movimiento que le daría la victoria es que decide sacrificar su Torre en H6 a cambio de la dama negra, algo que Zukertort no vio venir.

In move 17, Steinitz makes a move that would give him the victory is that he decides to sacrifice his rook in H6 in exchange for the black lady, something that Zukertort did not see coming.

La Caída de la Dama Negra./The Fall of the Black Lady

Luego del magistral sacrifico por parte de Steinitz, Zukertort captura con el peón de G7 y acto seguido viene el caballo que está en E4 a capturar el peón de F6 dando un jaque al rey.

After the masterly sacrifice by Steinitz, Zukertort captures with the pawn of G7 and then comes the knight that is in E4 to capture the pawn of F6 giving a check to the king.

Esta fue la estocada final por parte de las blancas ya que la única opción que tenían las negras era apartar al rey porque no podían capturarlo con el alfil de E7 porque estaba clavado por la Dama blanca así que una vez movido el rey, viene la caída de la Dama negra y cinco jugadas después las negras se rendirían.

This was the final thrust by White as the only option Black had was to remove the king because he could not capture it with the bishop of E7 because it was nailed by the white Queen so once the king was moved, comes the fall of the black Queen and five moves later Black would surrender.

Ya en esta posición las negras abandonan, reconocen que no tienen oportunidad de ganar y que sencillamente seguir jugando es seguir perdiendo piezas, como se los muestro en el vídeo.

Ya es mucha desventaja el caballo,el alfil,la dama y una torre de las blancas contra apenas 2 torres y un alfil de las negras. Si bien es cierto están igualados en peones ya que ambos tienen cinco, la negras cuentan con una mayor desventaja y es que en la casilla de H6 tienen peones doblados.

Moraleja.

Se dice que es de sabios reconocer errores y lo mismo aplica para las derrotas, no todos los juegos se pierden pero tampoco todos se ganan seis años después que Zukertort se rindiera en esta partida, se convertiría en campeón del mundo, es lo importante de reconocer tus errores y trabajar en ellos para mejorarlos.
