Jugaba posiciones en las que se sintiera cómodo por eso no era muy practicante de las teorías a pesar de no haber aportado estudios nuevos al ajedrez debo mencionar que popularizó la defensa contra el gambito de dama además de un contraataque contra la apertura española para empujar a las tablas la mayoría de las veces.

A parte de las razones debido a sus dotes intelectos debemos agregar que duró 27 años y 4 meses siendo campeón del mundo y aun más la época en la que jugó se enfrentó a dioses del olimpo del ajedrez entre ellos Capablanca, Reti, Tarrasch y muchos más personajes que dejaron grandes estudios de este deporte ciencia por esto lo considero el mejor campeón de todos los tiempos.

Quiero mostrales una celada que se hizo muy famosa un día que Lasker visitó una universidad y tenían un club de ajedrez y se enfrentó a los mejores jugadores del club todos contra él en una partida y por si fuera poco les puso a jugar con las piezas blancas obsequiándoles la iniciativa mientras que él llevaría las negras, todo comenzó como un gambito de Dama a lo que él respondió con un contra gambito alvin.

Las blancas optan por jugar dxe4 quizá pensando que Lasker capturaría el peón de c3 y jugar una partida sin Damas pero el plan de Lasker es atacar y avanza el peón que sin saber lo las blancas se convierte en un auténtico monstruo

Esta partida solo duró 7 jugadas y lo mejor de todo es que ese peón central termina coronando pero no como Dama que es lo que todo el mundo haría sino que corona caballo.
