Ese año se enfrentaría con las piezas blancas frente a un joven de Azerbaiyán de tan solo 15 años. esta partida se llevó el premio como la más bella de ese torneo. Kasparov obviamente ofendido por la insolencia de aquel jovencito se atrevió en un momento dado de la partida a sacrificar le un caballo obviamente es semejanza a que un desconocido haga semejante acto frente a Quién ha sido uno de los mejores ajedrecistas en toda la historia del deporte ciencia.
