En el año 2007 en el campeonato de Francia se vivió lo que para mi es una de las partidas de ajedrez más bellas de la época moderna fue protagonizada por el joven Francés Maxime Vachier LaGrave jugando con negras frente al suizo Roberth Fontaine quien llevaba las blancas y les resumo el por qué para mi es una de las mejores.

Sacrifica la Calidad.

En pocas jugadas luego del enroque de ambas partes Vachier LaGrave (negras) sacrifica la calidad para los que no saben el sacrificio de calidad consiste en cambiar una Torre por una pieza de menor valor llámese caballo, alfil o peón y empezando la partida entrega la torre de f8 a cambio del alfil de casillas oscuras de las blancas que suele causar muchos problemas en la variante leningrado.

Entrega Su Dama.

A Vachier LaGrave en este momento de la partida el cálculo profundo le arroja una variante en la que esa Torre blanca que amenaza su Dama d5 vale lo mismo que su Dama o quizá más debido a que si entra en g6+ dando jaque sería mortal de necesidad así que termina entregando su Dama a cambio de esa Torre tan peligrosa.

Hasta este punto podemos pensar que las negras están muy poco cuerdas para cambiar una Torre y su Dama a cambio de mantener su pareja de Alfiles, pero, aquí no termina todo vean lo que pasa.

La Coronación del Peón.

Luego de que el francés desconecta a la Dama blanca de la defensa de su monarca es tiempo de coronar el peón, pero, todos pensaríamos en coronar una Dama y ganar con ventaja decisiva, pero, LaGrave vio más allá y calculó que con coronar un caballo le bastaría y así lo hace

Corona un Caballo algo que hizo Enmanuel Lasker frente aquellos estudiantes en su famosa trampa con negras. El punto es que el francés demostró todo lo que se enseña y se aprende en el ajedrez en esta partida, él terminaría ganando el título de su país convirtiéndose es un héroe nacional y ha llegado a ganarle partidas al actual campeón del mundo Magnus Carlsen.

Up to this point we can think that Black is very little sane to exchange a Rook and his Queen in exchange for keeping his pair of Bishops, but, here it does not end everything see what happens.

The Crowning of the Pawn.

After the Frenchman disconnects the white Queen from the defense of his monarch it is time to crown the pawn, but, we all would think of crowning a Queen and win with decisive advantage, but, LaGrave saw beyond and calculated that crowning a knight would be enough and so he does it

Crown a Knight something that Enmanuel Lasker did in front of those students in his famous trap with Black. The point is that the Frenchman demonstrated everything that is taught and learned in chess in this game, he would end up winning the title of his country becoming a national hero and has gone on to win games against the current world champion Magnus Carlsen.
