For this week I will present a song titled "Alfonsina and the Sea". I hope it is to everyone's liking.

We can say that in one way or another we almost always feel identified with some songs we listen to, either because they bring back memories or simply their melodies and lyrics invite us somewhere or motivate us to close our eyes and let ourselves go. There are almost always songs that tell us a story about the author, about love, dedicated to a person, an event or a tragedy, the truth is that some are loaded with beautiful verses, words and we can even see some sarcastic or humorous, others also very obscene and meaningless.

Today I bring you the song Alfonsina and the Sea composed by the Argentine pianist Ariel Ramírez and written by Félix Luna, it is a true story that pays tribute to the Argentine poet Alfonsina Storni who committed suicide in 1938 in Mar de Plata by jumping into the sea. It should be noted that after being diagnosed with cancer, she began to suffer from depression and nervous disorders, leading her to take her own life. This song was published for the first time in the Argentine Women's Album in 1969 and performed by the great singer Mercedes Sosa, with Ariel Ramírez, Héctor Zeoli and María Dolores Pradera as guest artists. It is a tragic story, but told with beautiful words and a captivating melody. Here this disease "Depression" is highlighted, suffered by many people in silence and which marks a high rate of people who commit suicide. Therefore, we should not let our guard down and seek help as soon as possible if we suffer from it.
