Greetings to all and sundry,
Today i would be putting in my entry for hive open mic week 152 and since our theme is tradional music,
I decided to share with you one of Ghana's popular songs, second to our National Anthem. Actually most Ghanaians
learn this in school and it considered our local national anthem, it was composed by Dr. Ephraim Amu and it speaks about patriotism.
Whiles i sang in my local dialect which is Twi, the most popular language in Ghana, it transcribes as;
This is our homeland, our own land
It is priceless to us
Our forefathers lost their lives to gain it for us
It is our turn
To continue their good works
Being all knowing, cheating and selfish
Has damage our ways
And caused us to loss love for our land
Whether our nation prospers!
Or not! depends on the citizens' character
