    About :

If there is something that the members of the Hive Open Mic must do when we are going to make a version or cover of a Shakira song is to tag @jesuslnrs, we believe it is practically a mandatory law 😅; lie, just kidding 😊, but if there is someone who loves and pays the best tributes and recognitions to this super Colombian artist and the world is precisely Jesus Linares, we admire him for that because he certainly knows how to recognize good artists.

Now, the theme of this week is called "Brave mind" or "Mente valiente", and we chose this song because the author dared to express with great courage certain nonconformities, political and social criticism in a country where it is very dangerous to make such assertions, and perhaps this letter does not apply only to a country, but for all of Latin America and various parts of the world in which corruption makes dents with impunity.

We read that the inspiration for this lyric came from an episode the artist suffered in an airport in Bogota in which her backpack with all the lyrics of an album inside was snatched, however, she continued composing and this song was born. She also mentioned that the song is dedicated to all the thieves in the world who steal women's hearts.

This song needs no further introduction, we are sure that most of you know it very well, Where are the thieves? is a song that was composed by Shakira Mebarak and Luis Fernando Ochoa, corresponds to the album that bears the same name of the song and was released in 1998, this would be the 4th album of this world superstar.

We hope that our version of this song will be to everyone's liking.!

    Where are the thieves?

    They've seen them around
    They've seen them on rooftops
    Walking around in Paris
    Convicting in the courts

    With powdered noses
Wearing a tie or blue jeans
They've seen them all over the front pages
    With nothing more to say

    Where are the thieves?
    Where is the murderer?
Maybe, over there, wallowing in the neighbor's yard.

    What if it's them?
    What if it's me?
The one who plays this guitar or the one who sings this song
The one who sings this song, ah-ah-ah

Have you seen them on their knees
    Sitting or squatting
    Standing giving lessons
    In all positions

    Preaching in churches
    Even giving concerts
You've seen them at cocktail parties, all of them
    Handing out ministries

    Where are the thieves?
    Where's the murderer?
Maybe, over there, wallowing in the neighbor's backyard.

    What if it's them?
    What if it's me?
The one who plays this guitar or the one who sings this song
The one who sings this song, ah-ah-ah
