La selección venezolana de fútbol Sub-23 no pudo alcanzar el objetivo de clasificarse a los Juegos Olímpicos París 2024, pero más allá de hacer un análisis crítico, creo que hay que cosas que debemos rescatar que pueden ser muy positivas para el futuro del fútbol venezolano y por supuesto de la selección mayor.

Las derrotas siempre van a doler, más aún cuando se trata de tu selección, pero los torneos de categorías inferiores tienen también la función de exponer talentos que puedan suplir en algún momento a los jugadores que actualmente hacen vida en la selección mayor, creo que éstos torneos le hacen muy bien al cambio generacional de las diferentes selecciones.

En lo que a la actuación de jugadores venezolanos respecta, quiero rescatar a David Martínez quien ya no es una sorpresa, Telasco Segovia quien recuperó el nivel que ya sabíamos que tenía y a Samuel Rodríguez, un arquero que parece tener un futuro brillante en Europa y en la selección. Sin embargo, el resto de la plantilla también hizo un trabajo ejemplar, espero que podamos ver más de ellos en el futuro cercano.
