Revisiting the Rally of France in Colin McRae Rally 2.0 on DuckStation

I recently dusted off Colin McRae Rally 2.0 and decided to give the Rally of France a try, in this case the first stage. I hadn't played the game in years, so I was a little rusty, but I was excited to see how well I could do.

I played the game on my phone using DuckStation, an emulator that allows you to play PlayStation games on Android devices. The emulator worked great, and I was able to get a smooth framerate even on my Samsung A23 phone. As I mentioned before, I don't have a wireless controller, so I play with the on-screen controller (sorry).

The Rally of France is one of the most difficult stages in the game, and it lived up to its reputation. The tracks are narrow, with many potholes and hairpin turns. And harder if, like me, you have time without playing and also playing with a phone using the screen to drive.

I started the rally off well, but I quickly started to make mistakes. I crashed a few times, and my time started to suffer. The second half of the rally was terrible, and I finished in 16th place, also known as last place.

I was disappointed with my result, but I was also impressed with how "well" I did considering how rusty I was. The Rally of France is a really challenging stage, and I got a little frustrated with not being able to controll the car or get a decent time. Practice I need.
