Sometimes we hear words like "Swimming is not my thing" or "Reading is not my thing". If I'm to say something that's my thing, I'll say "Birthdays are my thing" I hope that English is correct 😅 Just get the sense out of it... I love birthdays!!!
Well, not from childhood but I can remember very well that I started getting excited about my birthdays from my sixteenth birthday because of the whole "Sweet sixteen" wahala. I didn't do much on my sixteenth birthday but from that time on, my birthdays only got more merrier.
I wish I could explain how all my birthdays were celebrated from my sixteenth birthday till the last one, then you'd be able to see that I've had so many memorable birthdays. Why am I smiling while writing this? I'm getting excited just for talking about my birthday... That's my love for birthdays.
Birthdays celebration are ways of showing gratefulness regardless of how small you celebrate it. I could just have my favorite banga soup prepared with chicken then eat it with nice starch on my birthday and I'll call it a memorable birthday 😋... That's because it's more than just a celebration to me - I'm getting older and growing to becoming the lady I want to be.
Let me say one silly thing here. I get a little scared when I'm about hitting a new age - Oh I'm becoming old! Those are my words with all seriousness 🤣. But my most memorable birthday didn't make me feel that way.
My most memorable birthday is the one I celebrated this year - July 24th
Where do I start from? Even the preparation to the birthday was so memorable for me and the process during the birthday threw me into continuous excitement even after the birthday, I got so many surprises from my friends and so much love from my family.
I made a video to show you more of how my memorable birthday was celebrated but I'll just add here how that birthday made me feel:
It changed my perspective on a lot of things
It made me feel what being independent is - I guess you won't understand how but I spent happily on that birthday unlike other birthdays where I had to wait for mum and dad to give me some allowances
It gave me beautiful reviews from close friends that left a mark in my heart
It made me love myself more
It gave me memories I would love to keep through all my other birthdays coming up
That birthday was my most memorable one and I can already feel that my next birthday would be more memorable and I'll keep saving those memories in my heart.
Do watch the video to have some nice views of the memorable birthday @merit.ahama is talking about... Did I just tag myself? I nor sure
This is my entry for the Hive naija contest, you should join us and participate by telling us how your most memorable birthday was spent. HERE is a link to the Contest post, have fun.
