This is another week in our lovely Afri-tunes Community, a community that fosters and spreads love on Hive blockchain through our African Tunes and music. And this is week 33 of our musical event in the Community,
Taking a cue from the Masterpiece himself @vheekthorjay, I decided to go to the secular way to bring something special. And following the song suggestion, Ayra Starr's Rush was my sure bet.
Ayra Starr is a fast rising Nigerian female musician from Mavin record label. The CEO of Marvin's record label, Don Jazzy, has nurtured and trained a lot of superstars in Nigeria muisic industry: I remember D'banj, Wande Coal, Tiwa Savage and Koredo Bello, among others.
Don Jazzy still continues to do this by picking young talents and giving them an avenue to showcase their talents and grow.
Ayra Starr is one of the lucky talented musicians under his record label, and she has released hit tracks like Bloody Samaritan, which is in her album titled 19 & Dangerous.
19? Wait a second, don't tell me she is around 19 - 20 years? Or is that her "football age?"
Wow!
Honestly, yesterday was the first day I listened to this song from the beginning to the end, since I intended to make a cover. Other times, my musical laziness always become active and pushes me to listen half-way.
However, doing this, I got to understand the song better; it's musical structure and lyrics.
On the one hand, it's musical structure is quite simple, just three chords in a progression from the beginning of the song till the end. Its melody is also a good one, and the instrumentation sits well: what do you expect from a Pro Producer like Don Jazzy.
In the lyrics, Ayra Starr, in a way, speaks of her experience amidst the jealousy and hatred she experiences from people because of her fame. She acknowledges that God is the source and reason for her progress.
I hope you enjoy my guitar cover of this song.
Sabi girls no dey too like talk
Animals dey in human form
Padi man, nobody like work
But you must hustle of you wan chop
E no finish dem wan fight us
If them dey run dem no fit catch up
I no dey form say I too righteous
No come dey form say you too like us
Me no get time for the hate and the bad energy
Got my mind on my money
Make you dance like Poco Lee
Steady green like broccoli
Steady on my grind no wan hear what they wan telly me
Kudi na my fantasy
Dem wan dey check if my tap e no rush
But e dey rush
E dey rush well well

Na God dey make my tap, e dey rush
The kind money we touch
But e dey rush
E dey rush well well
E be much
No be hype, everybody dey crush
There's no dulling with us (There's no dulling with us)
