Greetings to my lovely musical Family on Hive!!!
Yoooooo!!!!
This is ksam again and I am here with my great Friend, Lotanna Charles Aniekwe: I always call him Great Charlemagne.
For those of us Familiar with Medieval World History, we know that Emperor Charles the Great (Charlegmane) was the first Roman Emperor to unite the majority of Central Europe in the late 8th and early 9th centuries. Well, this is not a history class 😅 Let's get back to music!!!
Charlemagne 😁 is a good musician and a multi-talented instrumentalist (he plays the lead guitar, bass guitar, Piano, jazz drums and local drums, Saxophone and many other instruments).
Na my Oga!!!
Charlemagne and I
We initially planned on presenting a Duet with the Guitar for the first week of our lovely Afri-tunes Weekend event on Hive Music. But it didn't work out as we initially planned. However, we hope you enjoy his own unique way of celebrating with this lovely African Family on Hive and celebrating the African Tunes.
Sweet Mother and Palm Wine Groove
"Sweet Mother" is a highlife song by the Cameroonian and Nigerian singer Prince Nico Mbarga and his band Rocafil Jazz. The song was released in 1976 and it remains one of the most popular songs in Africa.
The song is a celebration of motherhood, sung in Nigerian Pidgin English. The music is West African Highlife, with Congolese Soukous style guitar finger-picking.
The Palm Wine Groove is an afro highlife instrumental that puts you in the mood for some Highlife groove 😉when you are in the bar drinking your chilled Palm Wine (the Local natural wine gotten from the sap of various species of Palm Trees: like Coconut and Date Palm trees, among others).
Nsikak, a Nigerian Guitarist, began a challenge on 24th April 2020, during the Covid-19 lockdown, and the vibe got many Guitarist making their input in this great Groove.
You can watch Nsikak's Guitar video and Vibe here
