    About :

Welcome to another exciting adventure hike on the south Cape coast of Africa. This is an area called the Garden Route, for good reason. It is the most picturesque part of the coastline at the foot of Africa. I'm exploring a fascinating cave structure at the shore line this morning in this epic video clip, taken just around new moon, with the sea swell really pumping.

Since it's winter now, the sun is rising much later and so I was able to venture out at dawn and make my way down the rocky cliff face to this hidden cave system. Very few people have ever been here or endevor to find this region, so I am like a man on the Moon, experienceing a powerful pice of the landscape, but with so few others who are able to bask in its majestic and rugged beauty. So I managed to capture a little of that beauty and bring it back on video for you to see.

At this time of year with the sun rising a little later than usual, and at a particularly low angle, I was able to note the angle of the Sun's rays as they approach the entrance to the cave, aiming to see the rays actually penetrate into the cave itself at this time of year.

It takes a serious endeavor to find the place as well as to scramble down the rock face with few paths to follow. One simply has to have the exploratory spirit and have a general bearing in which to head, and eventually you come out at the shore line and then with extra effort to these caves.

This is ancestrally the home of the indigenous Bushmen race, the aboriginal tribes of stone age nomads who lived here even before the Bantu or black race migrated south from their home in central Africa. I am researching their history currently and feel a desire to tap into their zeitgeist, now that I walk in their footsteps along these rugged untamed shores. I will be writing more about them in coming days, as I explore their ancestral home and find out more about them. These so-called Khoi and San Bushmen tribes were a curious race, originally met by the first European settlers and traders who rounded the Cape on route to India and the east in the 15th to 17th centuries.

I find the power and purity of the area here very invigorating and uplifting and feel really fortunate to be able to have such a place to explore, and indeed the planet is large and spacious still, with plenty of healthy nature to imbibe.

I hope you have a similar type of natural surroundings nearby so that you can be in touch with what is our home and source of sustenance on several levels.
