Lagrimas negras es una canción en ritmo bolero son, y fue compuesta por Miguel Matamoros del popular trio Matamoros de Cuba. El se encontraba alrededor de los años 1930 en Santo Domingo. Al lado de la habitación donde se encontraba hospedado, escucho a una mujer llorando, y lo que le llamo la atención es que, ella no paraba de llorar. El fue a su encuentro y se encontró con la triste historia de que, el compañero de vida de dicha dama, la había dejado por otra mujer.

Lagrimas negras is a song in bolero son rhythm, and was composed by Miguel Matamoros of the popular trio Matamoros from Cuba. He was around the 1930's in Santo Domingo. Next to the room where he was staying, he heard a woman crying, and what caught his attention was that she did not stop crying. He went to meet her and found the sad story that the lady's life partner had left her for another woman.
This is how this classic of Cuban music was born, with the great feeling that the author imprinted on it, when he saw the black tears of this poor woman.
