It's a Back To Basics rule, one of my least favorite rulesets on the game, and if the monsters have to answer for themselves, I am sure they will like having their abilities with them all the time to show off their powers and strengthen with magical spells, etc.
So whether it is a rule I like or not, it is part of the game, and we must show up on the battlefield with the best of our lineups.
I do however think the Back To Basics ruleset is like parking the bus in soccer where defenders sit back inviting attack while they keep defending...

ARKEMIS THE BEAR is high in Health so it is suitable for a battle of this kind, it is the most expensive of mana cost in my lineup with 12 mana but it was worth having it in the frontline to take a couple of hits for the team.
DJINN OSHANNUS has got an impressive speed with 11 health as well, so it occupies the second spot in my lineup, the Void and Phase abilities are lost in this battle so it mainly attacks after an attack at each other and pray your lineup outlasts your opponent's.
I wanted another card that can attack from the frontline while also attacking from anywhere in the lineup, so I opted for RIVERBOAT CAPTAIN in the third spot in my lineup, it is low in health but worth taking the risk s I can get an attack or two launched from the frontline should OSHANNUS be eliminated.
CORNEALUS was deprived of its magical powers, its ability to see from any direction, self heal and thorns abilities are back to basics, it cost me 10 mana for 12 health, and it should be able to take some hits for the team should it land in the frontline and a CORNEALUS in your lineup is always a good thing.
The 4 range damage of SEA STALKER was too tempting to leave out of my lineup, so it made it attacks from range from the fifth spot.
Should I have placed SUPPLY RUNNER in the fifth place rather? I think so because SEA STALKER can do much higher damage should SUPPLY RUNNER be in the frontline, that was a mistake I got away with that could have altered the outcome of the battle should it have extended to longer rounds.
Back To Basics, ruleset isn't that bad after all.
