Hello Hive Open Mic community! We are in the 123rd edition of our weekly event and this time the theme is A Better World For All, a proposal of our colleague @daniky, whom I invited to give us his inspiration, since the musical and social work he has done in his region touched my soul...
This time I'm going to sing the song Un Mundo Mejor by La Oreja De Van Gogh. I have already brought it to the Open Mic once, but I feel it is necessary in the repertoire to be highlighted this week. Its lyrics have a lot of strength and meaning for me, especially in these difficult times. The song is from the 2003 album Lo Que Te Conte Mientras Te Hacías La Dormida, one of my favorite albums.
Again I apologize for presenting a simple video, I am in my hometown and my work tools are in Caracas, I only have one tool left, but it is the most important: My voice, God's blessing inherited through my talented parents; it is not the best, but I humbly offer you this version, I hope you like it.
The video was recorded with my Tecno Pova II and edited with InShot. The images were edited with PhotoDirector. Thanks to all who support me every day on the platform. I will always return the love as much as I can. Happy week...
English
Time has painted the streets in the same color
And you defend yourself from hunger with a smile and love
The houses seem to look asking for forgiveness
And everything starts to dance when the sun no longer watches over you
I want to hear your voice singing in a better world
I want to find you smiling at life if it doesn't smile at you
Tell me sad-eyed girl
Do you remember that old ship that you loved so much
Where you and the sea talked of freedom
Of a stairway to the moon maybe
Of a world that will never stop making us dream
The cars crawl away leaving behind a smell
That drowns soulless tourists drinking in their rum glasses
A child asks if freedom is like that
And an old habanera sounds telling him an endless tale
I want to hear your voice singing in a better world
I want to find you smiling at life if it doesn't smile at you
Tell me girl with sad eyes
Do you remember that old ship that you loved so much
Where you and the sea, you talked of freedom
Of a stairway to the moon perhaps
Of a world that will never stop making us dream
Don't say anything, it's only an angel playing to live
Smile again for me
So tell me sad-eyed girl
Do you remember that old ship that you loved so much
Where you and the sea, you talked of freedom
Of a stairway to the moon perhaps
Of a world that will never stop making us dream.
Feliz semana...
