Venezuela's Musical Future is Secure

My beloved and wounded Venezuela continues to give birth to great people willing to conquer the world with their talent and perseverance. For me it is incredible to discover that despite so many years of hunger, protests, migration, injustice and daily devaluation of our currency, great professionals can still be formed, demonstrating that they are stronger than any adversity ... With tears in my eyes I witnessed the power of one of our new orchestras, which has already been shown in European halls since its creation last year; it is the National Children's Symphony Orchestra, which sounds at the same level of our Professional Orchestra "Simon Bolivar".

The novelty and wonder of these young people is that they are not only virtuosos in their symphonic music instruments at the young age they have, but the orchestra also sings. Since their formation in 2022 I have seen how our choral director, a fellow tenor and more recently my beloved Jhoxiris have taken workshops and different vocal trainings to nurture their musical knowledge, besides surprising the spectators who never expect that in the middle of an orchestra concert the instruments stop and its members start singing.

I have to accept it, these guys have become the favorites of our musical institution. It is impossible not to love, admire, guide and care for such talented children and teenagers with such a bright future ahead of them. Just by listening to them we know that this dream of music in Venezuela will continue for many years to come, and they are the example that, taking out the political part, our institution works very well, because all the musicians who make life in it are here for the music. We have had the pleasure of rehearsing with them, preparing for the international congress that will take place here in Venezuela next week, where my group will cease to be the National Choir and we will become for a week the World Choir of El Sistema.
